Pegs Glorified Ham and Eggs - 1495 E Prater Way. Sparks, NV 89434
Hungry for some amazing Breakfast in the Reno/Sparks area? Then this is the place for you! Truly what I would call a traditional style breakfast diner as there is nothing fancy about the place, explicitly focused on providing an amazing variety of breakfast fare, and limited hours (6:30a to 1:30p) knowing that by focusing on your morning market you are going to be good at meeting their needs well, and thats breakfast! The place seems to have a locally devoted clientele where extremely efficient and friendly servers know their customers and one gets the feeling of extended family. The menu is quite varied and extensive considering it focuses around basic ingredients being eggs and breakfast meats. There is a range from the traditional eggs and bacon to eggs and about everything else. PEG’S EGGS are all served w/ hash browns & unlimited toast (Upgrade toast to a single large biscuit for $1 more). There is also a collection of PEG’S GLORIFIED SKILLETS Served w/ hash browns, pico de gallo, cabbage slaw, fresh pinto beans & “unlimited” corn tortillas (upon request). Skillet choices are Peg’s Glorified Huevos Ranchero (the favorite!), Chile Relleno & Eggs, and Breakfast Burrito which can all be upgraded with a selection of proteins such as 6 oz. Sausage Patty, Chorizo Patty or Turkey Patty. One can also choose from PEG’S “COUNTRY GRAVY” BENEDICTS, PEG’S “ALOHA” FROM HAWAII selection, and of course a variety of OMELETS and the build your own selection. Pancakes (the seasonal Pumpkin option is amazing!) French Toast and waffles are also available with a selection of morning beverages with very good coffee. Be warned though, the servings are enormous and most likely will require a to go container. Pegs has 6 locations in the Northern Nevada (Reno and surrounds) area, 3 in Southern Nevada (Las...
Read moreI highly recommend this establishment! Clean with a nice diner style atmosphere! The associates were very professional and so friendly. First diner I've been too where smiles were on all associates faces including the chefs which are visible to everyone! Coming from Hawaii we had items from Peg's Aloha section. The portion sizes were bigger than almost all diners in Hawaii and so ono! (Delicious) I had the Loco Moco which was fantastic! The gravy was one of the best I've had. One of us had the Pork Chop meal which was delicious if you like sweet flavored sauce. Myself would ask for substitution of the sauce with the Loco Moco Gravy!!! I'm going to on my next visit!.... Another had the Hawaiian Breakfast with Portuguese sausage. Huge portions and ono too! The last one also had the Hawaiian Breakfast with sub all Spam. Again huge portions and so ono! All orders come with Mac salad! If you like gravy on your food I would ask if they can add the Loco Moco gravy to your order. This diner received 5 stars from these Hawaiians for Peg's Aloha section! As we were watching the orders delivered to other patrons we couldn't believe our eyes at how huge and delicious everything looked. I'm sure all the food must be delicious there because this place was packed on a Wednesday and it wasn't even 8am yet! There were plenty of parking spots including disabled parking. We DEFINITELY will be back! Mahalo & Aloha Peg and Crew for a fantastic breakfast...
Read moreAfter an early appt in reno, the missus and I decided to grab a bite before starting the trip home. She decided on Pegs, and I'm a huge breakfast fan so I heartily agreed.
At first look, it was your standard diner layout, clean if a little compact walkways. Overall though, no complaints. The service was outstanding, the young lady had a smile on her face the entire time we were there. Drinks were always ready, and we always felt like we were a valued customer.
My wife had the Belgian waffle, with a side of sausage and eggs. I tried the sausage and it was possible the best I've had in a decade, it was 6oz, thick, juicy and cooked perfectly. I had the pancakes and bacon with eggs. Unfortunately the bacon was much less than the sausage, it wasn't bad, just tasted like thin precooked bacon. However, the drink... fresh... squeezed.. oj... it was a bit more expensive than I would of liked at 7 dollars, but man was it good.
The food was plentiful and tasted great, it is a bit pricier than a standard diner. With that being said though, the service and quality of food didn't make me think I was eating money.
My biggest issue was parking, unfortunately being disabled I look at the parking, the handicap spots seem to be near a door thats no longer used anymore as opposed to being close to the entrance. Is not horrible, just an inconvenience really.
Overall, I highly suggest getting some morning grub here, you won't be...
