This review is specifically for the John B White Cookout location, I love Cookout, just this location is terrible. So, first thing you will notice when you drive by is that there will be a lot of people waiting in line at this location. That sounds like a good thing, right? WRONG. They are waiting because this place is terrible. The second thing you will notice is that there are two separate drive through lines - the normal next to the building one, and a second one that is offset from the building. The offset one is so poorly designed that it hardly ever moves due to poor design and this location being terrible. Onto my tale of woe. I waited 45 minutes to get two milkshakes here. Plus the milkshakes were the wrong type. So I wait 10 minutes to order due to the line slowly moving. The line mostly moved due to people leaving because of the long wait. Then I wait another 20 minutes to get to the window. By the time I arrive at said window, so many people had left that the cashier didn't know what I ordered. One would think there would be milkshakes melting by now since I ordered 30 minutes prior, but no such luck. So I tell the cashier my two milkshakes - Oreo and Peanut Butter. 15 minutes later...it takes that long to go out back and shoot Oreos and Peanut Butter, I get handed two shakes. It's dark, I am tired of waiting, so I don't check what I got - which is my fault. Get home and both shakes are banana pudding. Which are delicious, but not the two I ordered at two separate occasions in my ordering fun.
TL:DR - Stay the hell away from the John B White Cookout location, it will most likely get closed down due to shootings or new management will get forced in because they obviously don't know what...
Read moreToday I waited in the drive-through at the spartanburg Reidville Road location for well over 20 minutes to place an order. I ordered two chicken ranch wraps, a side of fries, a drink and a milkshake. The total was almost $13 which I paid with a debit card and got my food in a pretty timely matter after ordering. Once I got halfway home and pulled the food out of the bag, I had a side of Cajun fries and two hamburger buns covered in chili and mustard. Number one this is the second time in the last month that I have attempted to go to this location and gotten the wrong food. Number two, what kind of food is this?! I tried to go back and go inside and make my order right, but the front doors were locked. Even after they saw me at the door, no one made an effort to the door even and see what the problem was. The drive through line was out into the road so I tried to call their phone. Surprisingly, instead of the phone even ringing, or went straight to voicemail and gave me the opportunity to leave one. Don’t worry, I did that! Im interested to see if someone calls me back. However, regardless they have lost my business for good. m not one to normally leave negative reviews, especially for fast food restaurants, because I know these days a lot of places are understaffed and it’s very easy to make mistakes. However, it is not by chance that the service is always slow and my order is completely messed up - twice in one month . If you’re going provide slow service and it’s due to being understaffed, expecting your customers to be understanding, at least make their orders correct. No one said “may I take your order.” Eventually someone did say “let me know when you’re ready to order.” I proceeded to “try” to place my order. I said I’d like to order 4 combos and then I proceeded to tell her what I wanted on the first one. She couldn’t understand what I said so I tried to repeat what I said when she interrupted me with a question that I couldn’t understand over the speaker. I said “ I’m sorry...” hoping that she would repeat what she just said. She then said NOTHING so I’m sitting there like an idiot wondering what to do next so I just decided to forget the order and continue to wait an inordinately long amount of time going through this drive-through behind the other cars. She glared at me as I passed by the take-out window.
We had promised everybody “Cookout Grill” food at home so we just decided to try to lower our blood pressures, park and go inside to place the order. A mature, NICE lady took our order and we proceeded to tell her “you didn’t have any problem taking our order UNLIKE the girl at the takeout window.” She looked like maybe this wasn’t a new incident with this person and proceeded to say she would tell the manager. By the way, Megan(Meghan) was the name of the person at the window. This happened October 2, 2018 between 1:30-2:00. So young and rude. I don’t understand why fast food joints continue to hire these people who have no work ethic or are not properly trained or just don’t care.
