Review for 3/14/2023: My husband and I dined in for the first time today. Today's visit deserves 2 stars overall. 4 stars for the good food. 2 stars for the friendly service, but the prices are ridiculously high. 4 stars for the nice atmosphere. We sat by the window where we had a nice view of the pond and fountains out back. We love that you can buy pellets to feed the fish. There was no music playing. Please play music. You could hear a pin drop in there... The paper menu doesn't show prices. I hate that. Why? To deceive people until after they realize how much they've overpaid when it's too late???
Since today was Pi Day, we were expecting a special offer for the holiday WORTH buying into. We walked up to the counter and spoke to 2 young adults. 🚩Neither of them told us about the Pi Day deal until I brought it up. It was buy 2 large pizzas, get 1 cookie free. What did they mean by 1 cookie? A tiny, Oreo-like size cookie? Or a whole cookie pizza? Either way, it didn't sound that nice of a deal, in my opinion. My point is, if we had not known that 3/14 was a special day for deals on pizza, we would've never been informed because the people behind the counter failed to mention it. Please train your staff to inform customers about any deals or promotions going on.
We each ordered 1 calzone with our own personal add ons. 🚩The cashier failed to mention the price of each add on. The price per add on is $1.50. INSANE. If we had known that before paying, we would have either ordered something else or taken our business elsewhere. There wasn't a lot of tomato sauce in our calzones, so my husband wanted a cup of marinara sauce to go with it. 🚩A cup of COLD marinara sauce is $1.20. He requested that it be heated up, but for some reason, 🚩we were told that couldn't be done. Instead, an employee offered warm pasta sauce, which is different from marinara sauce. (If you know, you know.) Why couldn't anyone just heat up the marinara sauce in a microwave? They don't have a microwave?
At least we were offered little cups of vanilla icecream. At least THAT was free of charge.
I posted a picture of our receipt. Next Pi Day, or any day for that matter, we'll go somewhere else.
🚩Employees didn't let us know about their Pi Day deal right away. 🚩The add ons are expensive. 🚩There was no music playing. 🚩Not enough tomato sauce in our calzones. 🚩Cold marinara sauce that costed $1.20 that no one would heat up for us. 🚩The menu does not display the prices of everything.
This place is ripping people off. I've had better...
Read moreI have given this place 2 chances. Food is decent !ut the First time I went my pizza was missing several of the toppings I paid for. Went back the next day to let the manager know. An employee who I assumed to be the manager (because I asked to speak to one) couldn’t figure out how to get me a refund so I was totally fine with a gift card. (This was the 2nd week in May). I went back this past Friday night and placed an order and tried to use the gift card only to be told that it had never been loaded. I told the person who turned out to be the actual manager about how I got the gift card. Tried to describe the employee as best as I could from memory as this employee was not a manager. She took my info said she would check to see who issued the gift card and resolve the issue, and was nice enough to let me have my order for free. Funny enough this order was also missing 2 of the 3 toppings I asked for. I came back the next afternoon when the manager told me too. I got there and she wasn’t a friendly as the night before. She told me that she talked to everyone who would have been working that morning that I was given the gift card and that none of the employees remembered doing it and that there wasn’t anything she could do. She said I should have gotten this employee’s information when I was given the gift card. She basically brushed me off even when I told her my order wasn’t correct from the night before (when she was working). It seemed like I was inconveniencing her day (despite the restaurant not being busy at all).
Very disappointed in how the situation was handled, and they have lost me as a customer. They can’t seem to get orders correct, and when mistakes are made they don’t even try to make them right by...
Read moreWhile the concept of Pi Squared Pizza.and the variety of toppings offered at Drayton Mills holds promise, my recent experience left much to be desired. The most glaring issue was the pizza itself. As you can clearly see, the dough suffered from a distinct lack of rise. Each bite was dense and heavy, completely devoid of the airy pockets that make a good pizza crust enjoyable. It tasted as though it might have been under-proofed and certainly seemed under-baked, resulting in a texture that was far from light and crispy.
Beyond the disappointing dough, the service aspect also contributed to a less-than-stellar experience. While I appreciate giving young people opportunities, the high school staff seemed to struggle with basic tasks like operating the cash register and accurately pricing orders. This made the simple act of paying a somewhat cumbersome and frustrating process.
Finally, the price of $52 for two pizzas and two beers seems a bit high, especially considering the quality of the pizza. While I understand that costs can vary, it would be great if prices were more competitive with other pizza places in the area.
Ultimately, Pi Squared Pizza has potential, but significant improvements are needed in both the quality of their dough, the efficiency of their service, and their pricing. Until then, it's hard to recommend when there are likely better pizza options available in the...
