Our first time trying this restaurant. Upon entering, the bar attendant glanced at us, didn't say anything, we stood there for a moment longer and she finally greeted us and said we can go sit anywhere we chose. First and most importantly, don't assume that everyone that walks in the door knows your policy, especially when the sign says to wait to be seated. We sat and the waitress came over to take our orders. I mentioned this was our first time visiting their establishment and she welcomed us. When asking for recommendations and how certain dishes were, she seemed bothered by me asking and definitely over talked us. She didn't want to let me get a word in. This is so unprofessional; as your patrons should be heard and she had no desire to listen to the customer more than talk. Upon getting our food we asked for extra napkins and the waitress brought us two napkins, the fish wasn't seasoned well and was greasy, the collard greens were extremely bitter, the mac and cheese wasn't seasoned at all and just seemed like noodles and cheese was tossed together and my muffin was burnt. My husband got the hamburger steak and gravy of which had no seasoning, cabbage wasn't seasoned and the rice and gravy had no flavor or seasoning at all. The lemonade was extremely too sweet. Also, it's unprofessional to stand and watch a customer pay for their bill at the table, as if to stand there to see what the tip is that you're going to give...at best that's tacky. I gave the food 2 stars because it was fresh and that's it, I gave the service 2 stars because she kept a pulse on the table and smiled, I gave the atmosphere a 4 because the music was nice and the restaurant was clean and a good vibe. Overall a 3 for the restaurant because it has potential. We weren't impressed overall. Make sure the food is seasoned appropriately and customer service etiquette could use a touch up there. I hope you all do well, it just wasn't up to my expectations for a soul food spot in the area. If we go again, it will be a while with hopes that some improvements are made in the...
Read moreThe atmosphere is really uplifting… the best way to describe is a hug from Big Mama when she hasn’t seen you in a while haha…
I dined in… and ordering wasn’t the easiest only because i looked online and seen all these options but the dine in menu didn’t have half of those options and no prices… so maybe getting a QR code menu, so when we dine in we can see the same menu… the waitress was extremely nice and didn’t rush us or anything, i also didn’t order what i actually wanted because i didn’t see it…haha {part of the reason for the 4 stars}
Now the food is AMAZING!! I did order a bunch of food to try… the ribs are a 20/10!!! Nothing he can do differently to them..the Mac n cheese is good it’s old fashioned which i personally love, could use a little more cheese throughout but still good… if you like a creamy baked Mac then you probably wouldn’t like it.. again it’s really good if you like the old fashioned baked Mac n cheese… the YAMS ARE THE BEST IVE HAD IN SOUTH CAROLINA!! AND THEY’RE NOT FROM THE CAN haha… the collards are fresh And have flavor but they also have that bitter bite at the end, so maybe some sugar, vinegar, chow chow, or a watermelon relish would go good with them… the whiting was crispy, i got my wings un-sauced because it was extra to get the sauce on the side and i didn’t know which one i wanted… the lemon velvet cake, isn’t not dry but it’s not moist but it’s crumbly in some spots, so a dense cake, im personally not a fan of dense cakes, im also not sure if that’s how it’s supposed to be.. the strawberry cinnamon rolls was good, the roll itself needs to be warm because it’s rich.. but i would get it again…
I also had food to go…{baked spaghetti, green beans, coleslaw, yams} and i can’t give an honest opinion because everything ran together… like the green bean juice spilled into the slaw and spaghetti, so some items needs separate to go containers… {the main reason for the 4 stars}
i be back today for the ribs, yams,mac and...
Read moreStopped by Pierre’s on a Wednesday and let me tell you — I hit the jackpot.
One of the Wednesday specials is airline chicken with mac and cheese, rice, and fried okra (I think you can choose other sides). Every bite was off-the-charts delicious. The chicken was juicy and seasoned perfectly, the mac was creamy and rich, the rice soaked up all the right flavors, and the fried okra? Crispy, golden perfection. It’s the kind of plate that makes you pause between bites just to say, “Man, this is good.”
And don’t pass on the drinks — the blueberry pomegranate tea was straight-up amazing. Sweet, refreshing, and totally addictive. I’d drive back just for another cup of that.
The portions? Generous enough to feed you twice. The people? Warm, welcoming, and genuinely good people to be around.
✅ The specials are a must-try ✅ Great portions and home-cooked flavor ✅ Blueberry pomegranate tea = chef’s kiss
