Shipley Do-Nuts — Restaurant in Spartanburg

We were in Sptbg for my daughter's dr chk-up & she wanted a donut & I said she could have 1 after dr visit. (We had driven past Sunny's Donuts on way out of Gaffney twds Sptbg when she mentioned wanting donut but I said we were running late & didn't have time to stop at Sunny's.) I looked online for donut shop near Dr's & saw this place. We saw several other people with kids go in so figured must be good. I hate to say that I was sorely mistaken. We 6 different kinds & every one was dry & hard. I was breaking the donuts in half to try the different flavors & the coconut white iced one was so hard, I had to forcibly break a chunk off. The cream filling in the choc donut was liquidy like Elmer's glue & didn't taste like I expected. While we were still sitting at table, a lady who had just ordered a specialty coffee drink threw her drink in trash. It made an audible "thud", & my older daughter looked & said "she threw her whole drink out!" I guess she was as impressed with her coffee & we were with the donuts. We couldn't even eat them all & tossed them out. My daughter had to go to the toilet immediately after the one donut she ate, saying stomach hurt. Oh, even the chocolate milk in the bottles they sold tasted off. Their step trashcan in bathroom didn't work (had to touch lid to lift it) & the can had no trash bag in it. The only saving grace is that he gave me 25% off because I'd said it was our 1st time; I would've been even more disappointed had I paid $8.99 for the 6 donuts when we only ate barely 3. (I paid $7.35 with the discount & even that was too much for the quality.) I should've waited til 6:00 & paid 3/$1 at Ingles (where at 6 they still would've tasted fresher) or even better yet, went back to Sunny's who has the BEST around. Lesson learned....DO-NOT waste...

First time checking this place out. Gotta say they impressed me. I went in more out of curiosity since there's already a Krispy Kreme just a little ways down the road and wondering what they could be bringing to the table because you just can't beat a hot n ready Krispy Kreme doughnut. So I went in curious and left humbled 😂. They have so much to choose from. I won't spoil all the details, but I will say their regular glazed compared to Krispy Kremes it's hard to tell a difference. It's just as good atleast to me it is. If you're looking for creative new doughnut flavors or cakes yo try, this is highly recommended. I ordered a mixed dozen through the app before walking in and I chose a dozen of assorted. Upon my arrival the gentleman was extremely nice and respectful. He did let me know that there was 1 choice I made that they just didn't have any made and already added a free doughnut to complete the dozen when I came to pick it up. He also let me choose any other item to replace the one they didn't have even though he already gave me a complete dozen. I saw one that I did not see in the app and chose it. He placed it in a small to go bag to add to my dozen as well as gave me 2 cards. The cards allow you 1 free doughnut on your next visit. So I went in having purchased 1 dozen assorted, and came out with said dozen as well as an extra choice plus cards for 2 more in the future. They taste amazing from what I've tried. I want to eat them all at once but I'll take my time and enjoy them. Overall I'd say I was really impressed with the overall service and how well I was treated. Definitely recommend trying this place if you've got a sweet tooth and want to try something different. The prices are fair as well. You won't be...

About 2 weeks ago i went in around closing and was greeted with a very sweet and patient young lady with blue hair. We had a nice conversation while she was serving me. She even let me continue to talk about my work knowing that they already had close. She was telling me about how she was having a bad week and was thinking about quitting because she was having issue with her child’s daycare I think she said and she said she was uncomfortable with a manger in there and scared to say something because she would be fired. I told her not quit but speak up, and to just to pray and god will make her next week better. Well I went in again this week to check on her and the employee up front told me she was fried. When I asked why was she fired(because she seem so sweet and like a good worker) she told me it was because she told her that a manger was “flirting with her” and the manager felt like it was starting drama between him and his wife so they decided to fire her. That just shattered my heart. It just makes me so sad knowing I went in there and she had just told me she felt uncomfortable with one of her managers and now she’s fired. I know it’s not much I can do but I’m no longer supporting this shop. Its just been heavy on my heart so I had to leave a review because she was one of the best workers there in my opinion.
