I went to sub station tonight to get a salad and am appalled at how the employees were treated. There was a lady in front of me in line ( getting a sub) that first told the employees that she wanted me to go in front of her ' so she could see better', it didn't make sense to me or the employees ... they hesitated , so the customer quickly looks at me and is adamantly , angrily saying over and over for me to go in front of her... so I walk in front of her... this sweet employee keeps her composure and begins to build my salad. Another employee that was running the register ( I believe she was in charge) steps in and tells the employee to move my salad and do the sub first, that she was in front of me... She tries to explain to the lady in charge what happened and she was reprimanded in front of all of us.. the sweet employee obeys and with a smile asks the lady with the sub what she would like on her sub, she responds lettuce and tomato, as she puts this on her sub the customer yells for her to take the tomato off the sub, she wanted it cut in half first... she didn't even ask that before the tomato was placed on the sub ( she was so rude ) ... frustrated the customer says im going somewhere else...and she walks out the door.. the person in charge comes up to the sweet employee again and yells at her... in front of all of us! I'm sorry... this sweet employee handled it perfectly and was being punished for it. When I got to the register I even told the lady in charge that the employee did everything the customer asked of her and she didn't do anything wrong. She looked at me and said well the customer walked out the door so obviously she didn't... Wow... I will be honest with you, lady at the register, if I hadn't already paid... I would of walked out as well. This sweet employee doesn't deserve to be treated this way. I will NEVER go to this location again knowing you treat your employees so disrespectful. I was mortified how they treat their employees... especially in front of customers! The lady in charge( at the register ) never smiled , she was the rude one! Sweet employee, everyone is hiring... go somewhere else where you are treated with respect! My salad was...
   Read moreRude staff members at this location! I had not had Substation in a while and heard that the Asheville Hwy location closed. I decided to try this one. I ordered two sandwiches. I was asked if I want it whole and what bread. I said yes and told what bread. I get to the toppings and the lady asked what I wanted I told her I wanted everything except peppers and that the two sandwiches would have the same toppings to make it easy for her. The lady snaps and says so all the way? I said yes. I don't know what part of I want everything expect peppers was not understood. I paid for the two whole sandwiches. The young lady asks you want mayo and mustard? DuhâŚyou just snapped at me about all the way so if that's all the way that's what I want. I proceed to pay and my food is handed to me. I notice I have half sandwiches but I paid for whole. The cashier informed the lady who started my order she snaps and says I said regular. They ask if you want pickles and peppers at the end. I asked if it is included. They said yes, I said pickles the cashier repeated that I want pickles. I still got pickles and peppers. If I was allergic to peppers that would've been real bad. They threw them both in the same bag. The cashier was great and tried to make it right. She is the only reason I gave two stars, at this point I just asked for a refund of the difference. There is no sense in them redoing my sandwiches and giving me more attitude in the process bc they could not LISTEN or politely confirm with me to get it right the first time and I didn't want to delay others in line. Kudos to the cashier. She was the only one I directly dealt with that had common sense on how to treat people and displayed obvious customer...
   Read moreVERY POOR SERVICE. I got there right after they opened at 10am, and they couldn't even take my order because they had to wait for the owner to get there and set up the register?! THEN, after the owner got there and was setting up the register, they started cleaning the meat slicer as he was setting up the register!?? Isn't all that supposed to be done BEFORE you open for business?? After I waited another 10 minutes for them to do that, THEN they took my order!! AFTER I stood at the counter and watched and waited for them to set up and they didn't even acknowledge me. And the worst part was, I was the ONLY ONE in there and it STILL took me 25 MINUTES to get 2 subs???!!!!! WORST EXPERIENCE....probably won't be back for a while.....I, nor any customer, should have to go through that. As a business, you have open business hours for a reason! Prep time is BEFORE you open! It shouldn't be taken out of MY time!....Subs were good, but the bad experience...
