Leaving a new review of Wades. TUESDAY 11/12/24. We returned to Wades as our last visit was on 7/22/24. We had a coupon to use for our previous bad experience that evening. Please see below. We waited in a long line. Was seated and realized our waitress was the same Christina as our last visit in July. Husband ordered the pork and skillet gravy, okra and sweet potato soufflé. The pork was hard and almost cold. The okra seemed refried but was mushy. The sweet potatoes tasted weird and was cold. Pushed it away and couldn't eat it. I had a salad and spaghetti with meat sauce. It was very warm, not hot, with a pool of water under the noodles on the plate. Not enough meat sauce. Was disappointed in that. Our waitress was Christina again. She remembered us too. Let us sit there with no refills on our drinks. Took a long time for our food to come to us and someone from the kitchen brought it and the waitress jumped in behind her to oversee the young lady as she put it on our table. Then Christina ignored us and waljed among the tables. Would not look at us anymore. Our glasses were empty for a very long time. When the young lady that seated us came to seat another table, we asked her for a tea refill, which she promptly got, including a glass of ice. Our waitress Christina ignored us and several of her other customers too. Everyone was all looking at each other as she passed them by. We overheard her snapping at some customers and being extremely nice to others. We asked her twice for a small container to take my salad home as she passed us by. When she finally laid our check on the table, we got up and left. I was so upset and forgot my little box of salad on the table. The busboy brought it to me. I declined it. So then, the coypon that i was sent, via email, wouldnt work at the register. A manager was called up front. She couldnt get it to work either and it caused a backup in the pay line, embarassing us further. She gave us a 10% discount and decluned to take our information. Said she remembered us and someone will reac out to me via email. No one ever did. So, im on here again. Wafes, do you not want loyal custimers of many years? Its not okay for any of your staff to be rude to customers. There is at least one other complaint about the same waitress and how rude ahe was to them. Wades???
7/22/24 Monday at 5:45pm Husbands chicken livers was Raw inside and tasted like bloody metal. Our Waitress was rude and loud. She spilled tomatoes and okra all in my beef tips and rice. Asked for a manager. She was very nice. The Manager said our waitress is from up north, her name is Christina, and she apologised for her behavior.. Food was replaced and brought to us by the manager herself. Manager stood there and watched my husband cut into the replaced chicken livers. They were raw again! She apologized and offered to replace them for the third time. No.! There is no excuse for raw, very undercooked food!! And no excuse for a loud and rude waitress no matter where she comes from. Waitress brought us tea refills after having to ask for it and a glass of ice. Same waitress didn't give me the ice , instead, she started pouring it into my husband's glass and then mine while spilling water and ice all over our table! Wades, you can do...
Read moreMenu reduced to one page . Since restaurants are still using covid as an excuse for everything. But since I’m already forced to order off a pre set menu I would at least expect my food to be hot . Chicken pot pie came out congealed . Broccoli casserole and carrots came out stone cold . When I could finally track down our waitress not thing she offered was to take it back - sorry not having something taken back to just get back more cold food . She took it off our bill and our total for 2 diners - no desserts was 25 dollars . Ridiculous that they cut the menu down to one page and the employees cannot even deal with the responsibilities of that plague not withstanding . It seems that this place serves a generally Geriatric crowd that have obviously never tasted good food before because of what I could taste was bland . Also the dinner rolls / cornbread has been limited to one per person per table . Look I get it - you want your formula mostly consist of carry out / to go orders only -/ I get that is the bulk of your bread and butter $$$$$$$ but you should then just do that and shut the entire dining room down if you intend to serve cold - subpar food when the only cooking involved was a can opener. People who choose to sit down and dine in shouldn’t have to suffer. Y’all would be better off having a to- go - food only formula . With that all being said we will not be dining here ever again . If you want cold food - devoid of any seasoning 🧂 served on a limited menu - hospital cafeteria style wade’s will be all that and more for you . If you want any chance of a real meal though avoid this place at all cost and stay home and cook your own...
Read moreYes, yes, yes, yes, and yes, please. Needing some good southern comfort on the road trip, this spot ticked all the boxes. It was just a tiny wait to get a seat. Menu's posted in the lobby, and the variety of meat and veg choices were perfect.
If you've ever done the fast casual restaurant that can't seem to stay in business, Boston Market, then you know what you're in for. Meat plus sides. Except where that chain restaurant failed, this place exceeds. Back in the day, home in California, the choice of comfort food like this was limited. All there was was BM, which is clearly modeled after more awesome mom-and-pop places like Wade's. Anyway, that dumb chain is basically out of business, and places that inspired it, like Wade's, live on! All the food, the sides, and the sweet tea were good, and felt just like home cooking. Although my server needed to hear 'Sweet Tea' said in my California accent a few times before she knew what I wanted to drink. She repeated back 'Sweet Tay,' I guess so I'll know how to order it next time? ;)
Nearly every single customer walks out of this place with a mountain of leftovers, and Wade's was even happy to send home a to-go...
