The steak fajitas are super delicious! I don't know what marinade they use, but the meat was tender and flavorful, with grilled onions and peppers to accompany it, along with Spanish rice, refried beans with cheese, sour cream and guacamole. They had tortilla chips and salsa, mild and slightly spicy. I asked for salsa verde, which was delicious and wayyy spicier. The kids had cheese pizza and fries (much to my chagrin) and I had the ultimate margarita. The service was excellent. We were the only customers because it was a slow time of the day, but the server (who I assume is one of the owners) was very friendly and polite. The best part about the experience was the grilled steak and the friendly service. If I were to come again, I would recommend any dish with grilled steak in it. The prices are about average, comparable to most similar dine-in restaurants. If you are craving Mexican, want a quiet, sit down experience, this could be for you. I would skip the Margaritas, and just go for straight tequila shots as they use a mix. The guacamole isn't terrible, but I prefer mine with lots of lime juice, and without cilantro mixed in. Skip all the extra fillers [chips, cheese, sour cream, soda, margaritas] and get a dish of grilled steak with rice, or arroz con pollo, which was the special today. I would come here again....
Read morelet me preface this by saying i have been a casa de oro patron for close to 15 years. my mom would always take my sister and me here as a pit stop on our annual drives to montana, so my review might be biased with a little dose of nostalgia.
we’d always order our respective enchiladas suizas, and they would never disappoint. the only thing that could make this better, i would think to myself, is some horchata.
today, as my weekend trip in spokane came to an end, i suddenly remembered this token restaurant and wondered if it was still open 10 years later. to my relief, they were! i placed an online order, this time, with horchata!!! they must have added it to their menu within the last decade :)
the food was ready quickly, my enchiladas suizas were as good as i remembered, and the horchata washed everything down perfectly.
please visit this establishment during these difficult times! the owner has always been kind to me and my family, i recognized him immediately when i went in. i hope to...
Read moreFirst thing I opened my menu and a spider crawled up it. Decor was tastefully done. Lots of plants hanging about. Two stars because the Service was great! They were standing at your neck and call. But not hovering. Food was horrable! Lighting was even darker! I suppose so you could not see your food. From the salsa which tasted like pace picante beefed up with large chunks of stout onion to store boughton corn chips, to skirt steak? Paper thin and charred. Ground beef needed drained! Come on! Side of sour cream for $3.99? You can always tell how much a restaurant takes advantage by how much they charge for sour cream when they buy the stuff in the 5 gallon buckets. Most places charge 1.99-2.99. The waitress really was genuine and attentive. Polite...
