I’ve gone here twice during the busy hour. Both times I had a GREAT waiter. I saw him working today and he greeted us but unfortunately we didn’t get served by him. This guy deserves a raise and he better be a manager because he knows exactly what he’s doing. He’s got great energy, he attentive, he’s respectful and he creates a memorable experience. It’s why I tip him good. And the food is pretty good too.
But I came here today and was served by a nice guy . Nice smile. But he wasn’t attentive. He forgot our silverware, he never checked in on us to see if we needed anything and took too long to come see if we were ready for the bill. He was busy chatting with a female colleague.
Meanwhile I watched as the two women having lunch across the aisle were getting served by the awesome waiter, I was impressed. I saw for the third time coming to crimson hearth, this guy exudes great custom service.
I truly think one of my favorite things about this place is the energetic and attentive waiter. I don’t need to know his name. We all know exactly who he is.
As far as food goes, I wish the omelet had more seasoning. I don’t think it had any. But more than anything, I wish for better service. Especially when you’re expecting 20%.
To the rest of the waiters at crimson hearth….take notes. I’m pocketing my 20%. There’s no excuse for lackluster service when a prime example is right in front of you. Being nice isn’t the same as putting in the effort to earn your tip.
I won’t be coming back...
Read moreI had the eggs Benedict here and I’d say overall it was… fine, but definitely not memorable. The presentation was nice enough when it came out the plate looked clean and modern with a good portion of hash browns on the side. The hollandaise sauce was creamy and had decent flavor, but it leaned a bit heavy and kind of overpowered the rest of the dish. It could’ve used a brighter, tangier kick to balance things out.
The eggs themselves were cooked decently, but not perfect. One was just right with the yolk running smoothly, but the other was a little firmer than I like for a Benedict. The English muffin base felt a bit soggy under all the sauce, which made the texture less appealing after a few bites. The little bits of red pepper added some color, but they didn’t really contribute much flavor-wise.
The hash browns were probably the highlight. They had a nice crispy edge, though some parts were a little undercooked and stringy in the middle. Still, they added a good crunch and balance to the soft eggs and sauce.
Portion size was reasonable, but I left feeling like the dish was missing something to make it stand out maybe some extra seasoning, a fresher ingredient, or just more attention to detail on the execution. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t something I’d be excited to order again.
All in all, solidly average. Not a bad breakfast, but not something I’d go out of my way for. A good 3...
Read moreFirst time I went here the server tried to double charge me for the side on my food, then tried to tell me I couldn't have soup as my side, then gave me someone else's food, which i'm pretty sure they still gave to the other person despite being in my possession first.
I decided to give it a second shot a year later and get takeout food. First I called and was told "We don't do takeout, but you can order and wait in person" which is an asinine policy in itself. So I can't order over the phone, but I can order the same food in person while waiting in the lobby the entire time? On what planet does that help literally anything? Any other restaurant doesn't seem to have trouble with takeout orders, but judging by the training of the average employee here I can see why this place would struggle with it. I decide to do it anyways and showed up to order. I'm immediately told by the server "We don't do takeout orders". I explained that I just called, and was directly told you do if I show up and wait, to which she replied "Whoever told you that was wrong". Cool. Thanks for wasting my time and gas on what should be a pretty simple task for a restaurant.
It was pretty obvious that nobody from employees to management had any clue what they're doing here. If you can't even get management and employees on the same page for basic policies, it makes me seriously question what else you're...
