If there were more stars, I would give them.
We are visiting from Montana, and wanted some donuts for breakfast. We saw we were nearby this place and figured hey, why not just go here. We thought the donuts would be the standard ones you can find in any donut Shop in America. And in a way they were, they had the normal raised glazed and maple bars and apple fritters.
But what we tasted was anything but standard. The raised glazed were light and despite being enrobed in a sugary coating it wasn't that sweet, it wasnt super yeasty despite how light it was. The cinnamon crumb was so tender and crumbly (in the best way) and so strongly cinnamon. The apple fritter. Oh the apple fritter. It was surprisingly light and sweet and perfect. Sometimes you'll go for an apple fritter and it's good but too sweet, or too dense, but this one was out of this world.
We went expecting mediocre but good donuts and got so much more than we bargained for. Idk about the other donuts but if they are even half as good as these 3, you'll...
Read moreOver 6 months ago I went there at 745am to a whopping 3 choices of reject donuts no one wanted. It's always like that. For years I went there and by 730 they didnt even have a normal.glazed donut for my kids. I complained about this and was told that I was berating (nice soft customer service skills.) I went back today over half a year later and at 815am once again it was slim pickin. No if you wanted a sprinkle donut or old fashioned. But any normal.glazed or choc, you know the mainstays there is usually thr most of, we're once again mia. I get you gotta go early for donuts but out by 730-8am is insane and they've heard this complaint before. Maybe make more of the 2 main ones that you instantly sell out of and less of the ones no one is ordering? And I didnt even say anything to his staff about it in any way this time, soft or otherwise, so let's see if I'm just berating again or if this business owner actually cares about customer feedback...
Read moreSo, we live on the AF Base. We drove 27 minutes to this place. Now, we've been looking for a semi decent doughtnut place for a long time, where we are from the doughnuts are divine and amazing, so we have high standards. Doughnut Parade and Casual Fridays just weren't up to par, not even close. Stale doughnuts, bad service, poor selection (especially in the apple fritter department)... But Mikes, man. We drove there hoping to get our hands on some apple fritters, and we're so disappointed to find they were sold out. Instead of just telling us "too bad so sad" they offered to make a special apple filled doughnut with a cinnamon crumb topping as a consolation. Well they just made themselves some new customers. Their doughtnuts were tasty and they put in the extra effort to make us happy. I will be back and make sure I'm early enough to get one of their apple fritters! Worth the 27 minute drive and far better than any other doughnut...
