It was my son-in-law‘s birthday today & he had never been to your place. We had let him know how wonderful your food & service is for months. Unfortunately, the experience was not what it typically is for Hangrys. Server Amy J is insufferable & I unfortunately mean that 100%. From the moment we walked in, it was very obvious from her face that we were a bother. I did specify for my burger that I did not want mustard when I got my burger It was smothered with so much mustard that the bun itself was soggy & falling apart in my hands dripping with mustard everywhere. I nicely got up & went back to the Bar area & asked that it be remade without mustard. Amy then accused me of never saying I didn’t want mustard. She sighed very loudly & said she would remake it. When I handed her back my plate my onion rings that I had paid for via an up charge were on the plate minus one ring. She then brought my burger out after everyone was done eating which is fine as I asked it to be remade. It did not have the light mayo I asked for, & the burger itself had no cheese. It was very obvious because she was upset with me that she/the cook didn't want it made right. They put the cheese on the bun and all the toppings in between so the burger had no cheese it was melted to the dry bun. No biggie I fixed that myself by scrapping the cheese off the bun & put it on the burger myself. However, it didn’t have the light mayo I had asked for, so I again went back there & asked for a small side of mayo in a very nice tone. Amy told me there was already mayo on there, & then yelled back to the cook to make sure he put mayo on. They both seem highly annoyed at my request for a small thing of mayonnaise. They then argued with me about mayo already being on there, which is ridiculous. All I asked for is a side of mayo none of that is necessary. He then handed me enough mayonnaise for over 20 hamburgers approx slightly over half a cup of mayo. I then ask if she could replace the onion rings that I paid for to which she again sighed loudly & said you really want those. To which I responded well I paid for them if you’re not gonna give them to me, can you please take it off the bill which she stated she would. However, I did not get my onion rings nor did she take them off the bill. I was so uncomfortable with the way she was treating me. I apologize to the other waitress who was kind & said I am sorry but explained I’m being kind. Amy let me know I was a burden, even though I feel like I was asking in a very kind & courteous way. The other waitress obviously felt so bad that she apologized for Amy.I have been a server myself when I was going through college. I know how hard the job is. I always ask for things with kindness & respect. Even with that I was met with was a huge attitude today & someone who should not be in the food service industry. We did not tip & that is something I have only done twice in my 40 years of life. Normally we tip upwards of 30% & would have left her a minimum of $25. One bad employee can truly ruin a company. You can look at my review for the Stateline location. It’s a five star as everyone there is wonderful. I will say the food was very good once corrected, however sucks to pay $15.00 for a burger with no side even though I paid for it. Even if it was messed up, I would’ve still left a tip & been just as happy if she had fixed it without being so rude & displaying unacceptable behavior. I hope the owner see this & knows Amy J is affecting your customers. Perhaps she had a bad day not sure if she is always like that, but she is the worst server I’ve ever had as I’ve never been treated so poorly. You deserve amazing employees & Amy is NOT one of them. All the times I have gone to Hangry’s (at different locations) I’ve never encountered this. Amy J is the only employee I have ever encountered who is rude & unkind. When you spend $100 for lunch, you expect to be treated with Decency. You can see from my profile I hardly ever leave a negative review. Amy made my whole family uncomfortable & made us feel...
Read moreI've been frequenting Hangry's North since their soft opening. They've been a welcome addition to the neighborhood. Staff is friendly and food is delicious and plentiful. The most recent visit they had a special menu and hours for Easter. I had their prime rib, eggs, and garlic breakfast potatoes and my wife had a huckleberry balsamic glazed bacon burger with goat cheese. Honestly, I wouldn't be able to tell you which was better. The prime rib was perfectly cooked with great beefy flavor, a lot better than I expected and the burger was well balanced with the tang from the balsamic and the saltiness of bacon set off by the creaminess of the ghost cheese.
Their standard menu, though, is nothing to sneeze at. The brisket sandwich is to die for, just be prepared for a little mess! We've had several different menu items and haven't been disappointed. The pepperkraut is hard to explain but so great! When I asked the waitress what it was she sort of humhawed about it then opted to just bring me a sample. After testing it, I can understand why she couldn't quite explain it. It's a lot like pepperocini pickled peppers shredded like kraut...but not really... See? Hard to explain!
Another thing I'm super impressed with is their ability to make perfect sunnyside up eggs with no browning. None. Just a nicely done white and a beautiful runny yolk. I know, weird to go on about eggs. I have a hard time with eggs and for a place to get them right every single time, that's an impressive feat if you ask me.
All in all, they've turned into our go-to when wanting someone else to cook. I highly recommend giving them a go. I'm certain you'll find something to love about it, just like we have. For us, it's the down to earth servers and the...
Read moreHangry's North Spokane inherited a beautiful location and the atmosphere is always going to be 5-stars. Years ago, I tried Hangry's at their valley location through delivery and my chicken sandwich was raw. I abstained from posting a negative review back then because I understood that they may have had new cooks or it was just a simple mistake. My girlfriend and I decided to go and try Hangry's at the North location as we've been seeing rave reviews on Facebook through a group called, "Spokane Food Finder".
Though I didn't get a photo of my girlfriend's order -- the main issue with the "Crispy Chicken Sandwich" was it had too much of the Hangry's sauce and became sloppy to eat. Outside of this, we both agreed the fries lacked in seasoning and taste. Certain fries were cooked longer than others which is a quality control issue worth mentioning. As for my sandwich, the "Guac it Out", the guacamole lacked in flavor and seasoning again. The choice of provolone on the sandwich felt like it overpowered the other flavors and I'd suggest switching it to a Pepperjack slice. As for the dipping sauces I chose to get ranch (Pictured left), and tarter sauce (pictured right). Surprisingly, both had a similar consistency and flavor. I'm not certain but it tastes like the tarter lacked any 'pickled' ingredient to give it the briny tang it commands. My biggest issue is the overcooked bacon which was tough to chew and lacked crisp. The food was neither good or bad -- it was extremely average. I think there's potential to improve upon the menu if they simplify their focus and attempt to season/balance...
