What a great solo lunch time experience I just had here! I’ve been in before, but I moved away for a while, so it’s been about 4 years. I always thought the beer selection and food quality was good, but yesterday those things combined with the service level it just hit all the marks. I sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly, knowledgeable about the beers, engaging, and personable, but without it being the over-the-top fake act you get from some people and places. Jared was chill, and helped me find what I was feeling, by asking questions and engaging in conversation. He gave me his time without rushing me, or overdoing it. After I got the beer dialed in, I ordered the banh mi lettuce wraps. He ended up getting me a better deal than expected on those and my beer with a special they had. The wraps were delicious and completely hit the spot for taste and portion size. I spent a little longer there than planned or expected and it was a lovely way to get a little work done while I got to relax and indulge. Wish I lived on the South Hill, I would definitely hit this place up more often! With the amazing, constantly-rotating beer selection, and a good sized menu with daily and what I assume are happy hour/lunch specials, you can keep it fresh every time. Highly recommend!

The buffalo cauliflower was fantastic! Well seasoned, crispy outside and tender but not mushy inside, very well done 👍. My daughter has Mac and cheese which was also really good! I split the lamb sandwich with my wife and it was, unfortunately, not good. The meat was bland and dry. The server brought us more sauce but that didn't help. If you like lamb do not bother. The server offered to replace the meal or comp the sandwich so we decided to try the Tri tip dip sandwich and it was very good. The beer list is excellent 👌. Overall I would recommend a visit, skip the lamb sando.

This is definitely a place to come and try different beers. They have 4 pages of them and a great sampler deal. There isn't a whole lot to choose from for food on the menu, but are Burger was amazing. Non frozen patty with just the right amount of grease! It was mid 90s outside so they had the misters on which made for a fun atmosphere except for the hose connection wasn't tight and it kept tripping on me and in my drink. This is a good atmosphere to meet friends. $9 for a slice of cheesecake is a little pricey but tasted oh so good!!

My family and I have been coming to your restaurant for years. We live in North Spokane and we drove all the way down to South Spokane to have lunch at your restaurant as we have done many times. I got my favor meal which is Curry wrapped chicken. Unfortunately there was a 10 inch long light brown hair in my meal. At that point I had stopped and my husband asked to speak to the waitress. I was very upset and grossed out and at that point. I could not eat the curry wrap. Waitress asked if I could bring something else and I got the pork tacos. Unfortunately by the time it came I had I lost my appetite at that point. She never did apologize for the inconvenience or even bring a manager over. We expected to comped a free drink or appetizer for the inconvenience. We also expected a manager to come over and talk to us. That never happened. We receive the bill in there was no discount on our bill. We spoke to the waitress and she didn’t do anything. We paid for the full meal that I was very grossed out and did not eat. On our way out we asked to speak to a manager. The manager never came out. Then somebody else came out and said they were a part-time manager and could they help. We explain to them what happened and he did not do anything. No apology no discount on our next meal he said there was nothing he could do at this point. We were very discouraged we have been a loyal customer for years and after you certainly saw how you treated us we really do not want to come back to your restaurant at all. Be my husband are both of them customer care business and we know that’s not how you treat customers. I realize it was an accident but nobody cared about how we felt. Another restaurant that just doesn’t care about my customers. Very sad Spokane lost another good restaurant I would not recommend...

Very disappointed in the way I was treated last Saturday evening. We had a large group ten. Our group was told they could only seat 8 but would check the hostess would see what she could do. They made a special exception and squeezed our group in. As a couple of us from the group of ten were delayed we called to see if there was room for 4 more. My daughter asked if we could seat 4 more at an empty table next to our oversized group, the hostess told her that would be fine as long as we got there soon. We arrived within 10 minutes and the last four were minutes behind us on their way. Two of us sat at the table for 4 and we're rudely told that we could not sit there and after I said that the hostess said we could sit there I was told that that they do not reserve tables. Then he tild me that they had a call in that needed the table. Then he informed that they had allready made an exception for our oversized group of ten. I told him that the hostess said we could sit at the table. He said that she should not have done that an we had to move. The worst part is that I had to tell our freinds that they could not join us. Then the table sat empty for at least ten minutes and was filled with two people when there was another two person table empty a couple feet away. I would understand more if there was no other tables open and a waiting line out the door but there was at least three or four other tables open. The man with a long beard needs to work on his people skills. Or maybe this place only wants to serve small groups. I was very upset at the way we were treated and will not be back. I am sure my friends will not be back either. This should be a only a one...

I’m kind of bummed that I’m having to give Manito a three-star review, but I feel that it is warranted. Manito has solid food - no question. Frankly, their food is the key reason we go (and will continue to go); however, I’m disappointed with a couple of things.

I’ve noticed that the service experience has declined over the years. Servers have gotten slower and slower, and I find myself waiting increasing amounts of time to even be welcomed by a server. I have to make sure to get as much of my order in as possible at the beginning to avoid waiting for the server to eventually return later on. I’m not sure what’s caused the slower service as I’ve been there on days where it was quiet and on days where it was busy, and the service has been pokey at best regardless. Definitely need some speed!

The real thing, though, brining me here to a three star review today is the questionable tipping practice I fell victim to yesterday. We all know the tip is calculated on the SUBTOTAL. The payment to the government (tax) was NOT a part of the food or service experience. This is basic. However, Manito has programmed their POS devices to calculate auto tips on the full total. In other words, they are sneakily increasing their tips and hoping that customers will not pull out their own calculator. I will be revising my tips accordingly going forward at Manito. I implore management to revisit this...
