I have gone to this location two weeks in a row. The first was on a friday afternoon and the second was on the following saturday morning. Both times I asked for the 16oz latte's I order for myself and my wife be put into for here cups. You know a little less paper cups in the landfill won't hurt. Anyway on friday our coffee was brought out in paper cups. When I asked why they did not put them in for her cups. The person who brought them out said they ran out of the cups. They needed to be washed. I looked around at the five empty tables around us and there were at least 10 for here cups sitting on the tables that were not cleared. Today we went in the morning. I ordered 2 lattes for here and 2 pastrys. Again they the lattes were brought out in paper cups and we were given plastic forks. The same person brought out the items that brought them out las friday. They said sorry about the plastic forks we ran out of metal forks. They mentioned nothing about the paper cups. This time I joked so maybe you should hire a dishwasher. She said oh we can't afford a dishwasher. I looked around and counted around 12 16 ounce for here cups sitting on tables that had not been cleared. I looked over and the person who gave us our items was just standing talking to a friend for the entire time we were at the cafe. She did not clear one table. I feel that this is a poorly run store. They messed up a couple of orders while we were there as well. I think they should either hire a dishwasher or buy more cups and utensils. Probable will not go back to that Hammer Location. Most likely start going to The Rockwood bakery again. In the 20 years I have been going to Rockwood I they have never run out of for here cups or utensils. NOT ONCE. Yet Hammer just can't...
Read moreI was so excited for this location to open, since it’s opened I have continued to give it chance after chance. First of all we all know that drive-through is ridiculous LOL. So if I’m in my big truck it’s very difficult to navigate and I have to go inside. But, when I do go through the drive-through every time they mess up my drink. Last time I went inside I request a white coffee and they made it with regular coffee and when I asked for them to remake it they didn’t even respond “yes” just snatched it from me like I was in the wrong? I literally just got my last coffee from there today, a $6 latte, and I always ask for my drinks to be drinkable like around 145 so I can drink it immediately. Really not a difficult task and if you call it picky well whatever because I can have my coffee how I like it lol that’s what I pay for. i usually get it back scorching hot but today I went to take a drink and thought that I had whip cream on the top because it was so cold. Nope they just literally poured cold milk just all on the top of the coffee. Tastes awful. I normally bother to go inside and say something, and Im met a few times too many with attitude from the baristas. This time I did not. I shouldn’t have to go in every time I get a coffee because it’s always made wrong. I do love the way it was designed and decorated inside. That’s about it for this location though. Thomas hammer is pretty known for having delicious coffee, but this location is killing...
Read moreHad given this place 5 stars but was treated so poorly today I'm giving it 1 and won't be going back.
Hammer Reserve was one of the few resturant I take my son to regularly.
I noticed one of their drinks contains Molasses. One of my interests is heavy metal exposure and Molasses companies right now are currently being sued for not disclosing their lead content. This includes the brand they use, Brier Rabbit.
I mentioned it my server saying that I would just like to mention it to the chef. She immediately became defensive saying "we don't have any control over that" as though I was accusing her. Realizing that I tried to tone things down. I said "well you don't use it in food and since you disclose that you use it in your drink I can avoid it so that works for me." Her reply was even more hostile though. "If the FDA approves it we don't have to disclose it!" Um.. Okay. First of all... not true. If a customer asks about ingredients you legally DO have to disclose it! Think about food allergies and sensitivity. Customers actually do have a legal right to accurate lists of ingredients upon request.
Honestly I found her whole demeanor very threatening and hostile and I would now be afraid to eat there since Honestly I feel like she'd put Molasses in my food or worse.
This makes me pretty sad. Honestly I feel hurt because I liked this...
