I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Chalet, a delightful Ma and Pa-style restaurant that offers a cozy and relaxing environment. Overall, my experience was positive, although there were a few areas that could benefit from improvement.
The ambiance of The Chalet is undeniably welcoming, providing a comfortable setting that invites guests to unwind. The warm and inviting atmosphere makes it a great place to spend time with friends and family. The restaurant exudes a charming character that adds to the overall dining experience.
The standout feature of The Chalet is its fantastic employees. The staff members are friendly, attentive, and genuinely strive to make guests feel at home. Their warm hospitality and excellent service contribute to the overall positive experience.
In terms of pricing, The Chalet falls within the average range for similar establishments. It offers good value for the quality of food and service provided, making it accessible for a wide range of budgets.
However, I must mention one area that needs attention: the booth seats. Unfortunately, the current seating arrangements are uncomfortable and could benefit from replacement or refurbishment. This small improvement would significantly enhance the overall dining experience and ensure that guests can fully enjoy their meals without discomfort.
Despite this minor drawback, The Chalet remains a charming and inviting establishment, perfect for those seeking a cozy dining experience with great service. I would recommend it for casual gatherings and enjoying delicious meals in a relaxed atmosphere.
Please note that this review is based on my personal experience, and your mileage may vary. Nonetheless, I hope it helps provide insights for prospective visitors...
Read moreI've been a huge fan of breakfast at the Chalet for almost well over a decade! Although very busy on the weekends & most likely you'll have to wait for a table, they are friendly & extremely fast! From taking your order to landing hot & huge plates in front of ya... you won't be waiting long. Table turn-over is pretty quick should you have to wait to be seated.
Great To-Go service, too, both @ the counter & if ya call in your order. Usually ready within minutes of you walking thru the door! I highly recommend two of my favorites: the Chicken Fried Steak n' Eggs and the Eggs Benedict. DEEEEEE-lish!!
Prices are good, and compared to the national chain restraunts (Shari's, Denny's, iHop, etc), not only is it a buck or so cheaper per plate... But when you factor in great service & hot food delivered way faster than the above mentioned, in my opinion then pound for pound it's a great meal for your money! I give it 5 stars for AM meals alone. 👍
Good, basic lunches, too, if ya want a Soup & Sandwichs or Burger & Fries w\prices a little better than the average. Salads are mediocre; fair in size but nothing to write home about. And again, service & food arrival fast. 4 stars.
Dinner? It's OK. Not really their strong point. To me, their dinner is more like it's aimed at the silver-haired "Early-bird Special" crowd... which should one be, usually have a less sensitive pallete, a digestive system that doesn't want any extremes, gastronomically speaking, and all for a fair price. The Chalet's dinner meets all three. Thusly, I...
Read moreEditing based on today's experience. I won't be back any time soon based on some recent changes. Mostly, the Glade Plug In behind the counter stinks up the whole restaurant, completely ruining the experience for me. How can you enjoy the flavor of food when it's masked in overwhelming, perfumy chemical smell? Also, they're now charging a dollar to pay with a credit card. No big deal, but I wish I had known before my credit card was run, and would prefer if they just hide those expenses in their prices like almost everywhere else. The french fries weren't as good as most places. I'd stick with breakfast if I came back. On the positive side, the service was solid, pretty friendly and super fast. I love that they haven't changed the furniture.
I've always loved this place. Great, non-fussy food and not a hipster in sight. We've never had anything but excellent, friendly service. Prices are reasonable. Love the booths. Love the carpet. Love the high ceiling. Love being able to hear the person across from you, which is impossible in the modern glass/concrete/metal places like across the street. (Makes sense though if you're only looking at a screen.) Call me old! I'll take it! If I had to complain about anything, it might be time to up the coffee game - not sure the food service / Farmer Brothers stuff is cutting it these days. Not a deal breaker. I...
