I am referencing Round Table Pizza on Regal Street in Spokane. Our party of 14 darkened the doorway of this longtime eatery on 7/27/24. Honestly, here’s why it will be the last time.
The place was filthy starting with the bird poop all around the outside entry.. The doorways were smudged with greasy hand prints. Once inside the ceiling and heating vents were blackened with dirt, grime and stains. The soda/water dispenser area was dirty and the straw dispenser had crusted-on grime. It was obvious that no one had conscientiously wiped down the place in months or years. There were cardboard boxes and what I assumed to be supplies littered and tucked all over the place. I can’t say much about the women’s bathroom but the men’s bathroom was gross. Some flies attempted to land on our pizzas and we had to shoo them away.
The tables were the same ones I’ve sat at for the last 35+ years except now they’re loose, worn, dilapidated… and crusty.
The AC was blowing seriously freezing air and the children running the place couldn’t seem to turn it down or off upon our request. Perhaps it was a way of keeping patrons away.
All the beer taps had paper cups covering them that read, “OUT.” Upon inquiry the kid behind the bar said, “There’s no one here of age to serve the beer.”
Other than taking our order and bringing 4 large pizzas to our tables ($156 just in pizzas) there was zero service. We had to fetch our own plates, straws, silverware, left over boxes, etc. I now suspect the children workers were suffering from hypothermia. The presence of a responsible adult supervisor was clearly missing. The presence of a responsible kid supervisor was also missing.
The pizzas were moderately tasty but were overshadowed by the filth and disorganization of the place. The salad bar looked good.
For those of you who once enjoyed Beef and Onion pizza it is now not available at this place.
One might logically ask, Why’d you stay? One of our party members was elderly. Once we arrived and figured out our unassisted seating (the place was not busy and was nearly empty) it would have been difficult for her to relocate. We were barred from the empty back room because it was apparently reserved but no one ever showed up there during our visit.
In hindsight we definitely should have left. South Perry Pizza or Republic Pi are on the South Hill and would have been far better choices even if we had to wait. The experience here was...
Read moreI eat here once a week 04/16/22 update: The Round Table on the South Hill has unfortunately gone down hill, I arrived at 8:30 sharp, and the Salad bar had already been completely torn down and everything had been put away, the guy at the counter was closing out his till and had me standing there for a little over five minutes before he asked me what I wanted, I ordered a sandwich, and that took him another couple of minutes of fumbling with the computer before he asked someone else where the button for the sandwich was, and her reply, "we're are out of bread". That made absolutely no sense, you may very well be out of bread, but how did that have anything to do with this guys inability to locate the button? She replied, "I deleted it" Long story short, apparently Round Table closes at 8:30 and not 9 pm it didn't appear anyone there was interested in serving me as much as they were in leaving.I used to love this place, the quality of food and service justified their high prices, not anymore . 01/15/2023 My girlfriend ordered from this Round Table without speaking to me first, nothing has changed for the better, they continue to be run by a bunch of kids that have a complete lack of understanding of customer service, quality and efficiency, the ordere arrived cold , missing some items, and the wrong items. Look at all these bad reviews, South Hill Round Table in Spokane is lousy.......
Read moreWorst experience I have ever had, bar none, on 10/10/20! Incredibly rude manager refused to refund me after I was overcharged; said she removed the incorrect flyer that was being displayed that showed the specials (said flyer at the counter was incorrect as the prices increased that day). I asked to speak to the manager which she said she was, then I asked to speak with the owner which she said she also was. I later found out that she lied and is not the owner. Worst off, when she lied, she sarcastically took her face mask off and offered to shake my hand saying Hi, I’m the owner. I asked her why she would even consider doing that during a Covid pandemic and she put her mask back on and withdrew her handshake. So unprofessional, and she was the only employee not wearing a uniform (wore regular clothes), not to mention violating the state mandate for mask wearing.
Additionally, although there was only approximately 3 customers in the entire restaurant during our dine-in, the table next to us was dirty with the last customers food on it, and we saw trash on the floor. Also, no one ever checked on us after we sat down. We waited a very long time for just 2 personal pan pizzas to be done. I had to go to the counter to find out what was taking so long and also to address the overcharge and this is when the incident took place with the manager. I will be disputing this charge...
