Absolute WORST breakfast/restaurant experience of all time. Seriously. Rude waitresses/ignored me for 10 minutes when I walked in as there’s no host stand. Finally get our table—a regular booth size for us to squish 7 people in. Ok fine. Ordered dairy free—no cheese omelets for 2. Took 45 minutes and came out with barely any egg but CHEESE! Falling apart—not even describable as an omelet. Thank God my son saw the cheese strands in there so we could avoid a life-threatening allergy. This after I told the rude waitress and “manager” literally 5 times—are you able to make accommodations for food allergies and addressed what the allergy was and details of the food? Can you cook without butter and clean pan, etc? My daughters’ 2 omelets both runny —uncooked. Like raw eggs. Asked to recook—she says “is it okay if I microwave them”? Like WHAT? Microwave eggs and call yourself a breakfast restaurant? Then my baby had a long hair in her fruit cup! No basic cleanliness and our waitress looked like she rolled out of bed and had an attitude snapping at us while we ordered. These people don’t know what good breakfast looks like nor how to cook or address allergies in 2021. EPIC FAIL and they’re defensive and rude when they almost send a child to the emergency room, at best!! Go elsewhere and get some quality food unless you’re used to eating unhealthy garbage with hair in it and ingredients where they don’t belong. Probably would not pass...
Read morePrices increased dramatically and food has gotten disgustingly worse. Under cooked eggs and veggies on the skillet that doesn’t even come in a skillet anymore, the portions got so much smaller, the hash browns were no longer included in skillets instead it’s cubed (under cooked) potatoes, and the orange juice is over priced with no refills. We were long time customers for many years here but sadly we won’t be back.
In response to the poor response... the money is not the real issue here. The main issue is being served undercooked mediocre food for the increased costs. If the food was good then it’s worth the increase. We used to have a table of four for breakfast for around $40-$50 and food was great, but now it’s more like $60-$70 and food is awful. We understand raising cost to make up for inflation, but what we don’t understand is raising costs to serve smaller portions and serve undercooked food. Customer service is no longer a strong point either here... I get your frustration with covid putting a damper on your business, but then you need to come back strong to serve the community, not let that go to the way side to make a fast buck. Hope you can turn...
Read moreThe pumpkin pancakes during the fall are phenomenal! Thanks to Miss Bertie's recommendation the hashbrown casserole grilled was super! And anything Miss Bertie recommends will be absolutely worth it. The 5 star service review goes hands down to Miss Bertie because she is really good at what she does, she's super funny and has the best personality ever! I've seen her interact with the little ones and she always makes them smile and gains their attention over electronic devices! Update 8/23/23- As I entered Midwest breakfast company the air was chill and something was missing... the vessel of light, the vessel of sunshine that I came here for, Miss Bertie. So sad to find out she no longer works here. However, rumor has it Miss Bertie is not missing in action. Supposedly she will be serving at Buddyz downtown Mchenry on Green Street sometime around mid September. So fear not I will check this out and repost if definitive. Until...
