Very disappointed!! I ordered a day in advance an my order was wrong, the seasoning was terrible, I got Cajun that was extremely over seasoned and I asked for garlic butter, an there was missing items. My order was 45mins late an was overdone. I was told by Chris that the shell crackers came with the order and I wasnât given any so then I had nothing to open the shells with. Next time Iâll cook for myself. They didnât ask what I wanted to replace some of the missing food. They put extra potatoâs for replacing meat. I had no sausage with my order. I paid over $300 for an order with missing food in it. Giving potatoes is no comparison itâs a cheap replacement. Considering the cost of the order it wasnât worth what we received. When I called asking questions there was no offer of a refund of some money for the missing food. This was a New Years Eve dinner for my family thanks for ruining it!!!! You wonât stay in business long doing this...
Read moreThe experience was nice. Everything is served in large bowls. Other similar places I've been are serves in bags which adds to the experience of a boil bag.
Sadly I must say the food was amiss. The shrimp was a bit over cooked and rubbery. The snow crab was good. We ordered a pound of Blue Crab since we'd never tried it before. The legs were almost not worth the effort. The knuckle meat was plentiful and a bit sweet. Compared to the snow it seemed mushy almost slimy. It wasn't until I cracked open the second one that I discovered that they weren't fully cooked. The meat was almost transparent. There were only 3 active tables at any point of our visit so its not like they were rushed it get it out.
The server informed management and it was taken off our bill. Thankfully no one got sick from it. They did offer us a free pound of Blue on our next visit.
Might try their McHenry location and hope for...
Read moreUpon entering the restaurant, the decor and ambiance gave us a bit of a strange feeling. There was only one other table there, no music, extremely basic decor. Waitress was a tad odd. Not bad, just a bit odd. We took a long time to decide we wanted to stay. We saw reviews were good about the food, but the overall feeling of the place made us question if we were going to be leaving with tummy aches and $80 down the drain. Decided to just go for it and ordered Combo A, substituted the crawfish for extra shrimp. We were glad to have been proven wrong. The food was fantastic, crab legs were beautifully cooked, had a wonderful buttery taste and texture. Shrimp was great, and the sausage was good too. If you're willing to look past the decor and you're just looking for some good seafood, I'd recommend this place. It is pricey, but it's seafood in Illinois đ¤ˇââď¸ Place just needs some love and...
