Mezcal Cocina Mexicana 2 — Restaurant in Spring Hill

This restaurant is going to have to fix some things. I know they just opened but we ate lunch there today on Sunday and it took way too long to get our order to our table. We waited for probably 45 minutes before our order arrived. There wasn't many people eating inside so I do not think they could handle a large crowd. Another two tables waited a long time for their order as well. The other couple with us had to be somewhere, so they only had less than 30 minutes to eat their meal. You have to be faster getting the food out of the back room or you want survive. The people with us they probably want be back. Then we had to ask for our ticket. That was taking too long as well. Food was average; not bad, not outstanding.

We went after 7 PM and were seated right away. Our server was friendly and took our drink and food order quickly, but kinda forgot about us afterwards.

The chips and salsa was good. Nothing unusual. We ordered a plain chicken dish with cheese with a side of rice, and chicken fajitas. Fajitas are made with onions, peppers, and tomatoes. I added a Chile Relleno on the side. It was stuffed full of cheese, and was very mild.

Again, nothing really outstanding about the food, but it wasn’t bad either.

The price was modest so if you want a quick place to eat Mexican food, it’s not bad.

I’m giving this two stars only because the first time we went was better than this last time. That said we will not be returning. The food was bland. Two of three dishes we ordered came out incorrectly. They did fix one of them. We only received one drink refill that we had to ask for. Same for the salsa. We got our bill with several extra charges even though we asked the waitress what could be done to modify a couple things and nothing was ever said in regards to added cost. One of which was an up charge for chicken on chicken nachos. Thankfully they did remove that one, but not the others. Overall it was really rough in several different areas.
