Here’s the deal. We love Texas Roadhouse but this was the last time I will ever order a to go order from them. The service in the dining area is great—The to go staff is always terrible. Almost every single to go order we have placed has been wrong. I placed our order prior to 7pm for a 7:45pm pick up. I get there on time and they finally tell me that they are out of stock of one dinner item. I said why didn’t you call me? She said they sometimes don’t (that is insane to me—mine as well throw the rest of my food away because it will be gross by the time we finally get to eat it). SO, I replaced with a kids meal that was closest to it since it was for my son. We then had to wait another 20 min to get our order. Because there is no where to check the order out there I took it back to my car with my 4 year old in tow to double check it all and had to go back and tell them we were missing a side and an entire kids meal. They then rushed out the kids meal and still forgot the kids drink and extra side. While I was waiting I asked if she could also confirm that they adjusted my ticket since I had to downgrade from an adult meal to a kids meal. She had to get a manager to confirm. Manager couldn’t even tell me as she seemed to struggle to figure it out herself or give me a receipt to confirm and just said “it will take a couple of days and you’ll see it” I then told her about this entire fiasco of a to go order pick up and asked for a discount because at this point all of our food was cold after waiting 45 min for their team to get it right. She said nothing she can do other than “try” to give us a bit off but she would just see what she could do. I was astounded that this was how she was going to resolve such a terrible experience. The food at that point was not even worth the money we paid which was the main point of the discount. I can give grace over service mistakes but I won’t pay full price for a botched meal. Absolutely atrocious service-especially the manager who had the ability to make it right and didn’t. Most of the bad reviews are on their to go service it looks like so please do yourself a favor and don’t order from them. Jonathan’s, Longhorn ANYWHERE is better for to go around Spring Hill. Management—make your to go staff do better. You should be embarrassed. And for the love if your manager has a chance to make it right-they need to. I’ve worked in restaurants in college and I never messed up that bad on a continuous basis—you need to fix it. I’ve run a company before and managed staff and it’s your responsibility to fix these issues. Judging by the conversation I had with the young female manager last night—that is not much of a concern for you I guess. People work WAY to hard these days to spend their hard earned money on botched meals and to deal with staff who...
Read moreWe were seated within 5 minutes of arrival which was great. Hostess said server would bring silverware so they were obviously running short on inventory. A full 10 minutes later we finally saw our server for the first time. We gave our drink and food order at the same time. Salads came out quickly but with egg. ( who puts egg on house salad without asking but maybe I just don't have a sophisticated palette.)
Finally 11 minutes after ordering and asking our server 3 times we received silverware. I guess my face gave away my dissatisfaction and although I didn't make any comment to our server her attitude went downhill quickly.
We received our drinks ( 2 regular margaritas) 15 minutes after ordering. Our food arrived 25 minutes after ordering and was good but nothing to get excited about. I know that good employees are hard to come by these days but there did not seem to be a shortage of help on this shift. I did see a manager visit a nearby table but turned and headed back to the kitchen without making eye contact or at least making a visual check on any other tables.
The only bright-spot was the bussers who were eagerly waiting for empty tables and thoroughly cleaning and wiping everything including the light shade. Other servers I saw were much more attentive and I guess we had a bad draw tonight with ours which makes me ask why their system rotates table stations between servers. I guess it's an attempt to be more efficient but makes things more confusing in my opinion.
Managing restaurants is hard especially in today's environment but this was a failure on so many levels. I don't expect perfection at this price point but this was a lack of awareness on every level. Show me some effort and I am much more forgiving. This was bad fast food level execution (Chick-fil-A and a few others are the exception from this comparison). I hope they aren't employing Secret Shoppers that are seeing this performance, or maybe they...
Read moreI am sick and I can’t get out and eat in the restaurant. We ordered carryout from Texas roadhouse two weeks ago and it was really good. Tonight was the worst stuff you could ever serve anyone. My son got an 8 ounce fillet that was actually cooked perfectly it was just cold and his fries were ice cold. He and I both got mac & cheese as a side and they were cold with no cheese sauce in them whatsoever It was more like butter noodles. I got the grilled shrimp and when we were ordering online I asked for no seasoning on the shrimp but they were so over seasoned that they were black. The shrimp were cold and way way overcooked so much so that they were so dry and shriveled up that they wouldn’t come off the skewers. They tore apart when I tried to take them off. They give you a side of garlic butter, but it looks like they dumped my garlic butter all over the container and then put the lid back on it tight because there was barely a smidge of butter in that ramekin. I also got a side salad and last time the box was full of salad this time it wasn’t even half full and it was dried up and shriveled lettuce. We got a brownie for dessert and the ice cream was melted down to pretty much milk. My daughter went and picked this food up for us and it wasn’t ready when she got there so it’s not like it sat there a long time waiting on us to arrive. my kids feel that the reason they were so spiteful serving us this type of food was because we took the tip off ordering online. We usually don’t tip when we go pick something up but last time my dad paid and he tipped and maybe that’s why the food was better last time. I believe in tipping the person that runs back-and-forth 25 times in a sitting getting you iced tea and refills and stuff and checking on your food, but this was just carry out.. What a waste of money I couldn’t even eat my food it was so disgusting. I truly feel like this was done on purpose Lesson...
