Really really disappointed in my experience at Elan. As a former employee of 2 high end salons I left more then upset on 3 occasions in a weeks time. I was very clear what I wanted as far as color highlights lots of highlights and should my stylist 3-4 photos to be clear. I was pretty light to begin with and had 8 weeks of regrowth and with the pictures I thought this hair appointment would be a piece of cake! I usually " break my base " and she said she didn't think that was needed and she would do more of a natural color in between which at the end just made me look like I had roots :( the lighting in were the color is applied is great but the lighting at the stylist stations isn't! After going home and looking in the mirror I was less then thrilled so I called Salon and made an appointment to go back and have it fixed. I left more disappointed the second time which I thought how is that even possible!!!! Had a ton more highlights put in and I asked her if there was anything we could do to lighten my base " I suggested maybe we should just do a double process now to fix everything " she put bleach on my hair line and where the dark was in between foils w a glaze to follow... I left the salon the second time with an orange hair line & roots :/ I was mortified!!!!I looked like a complete clown! I called the salon for the 3rd time and asked to see a different stylist, I had a consultation and she said " I had a lot going on here " at first she said she thinks we should do some color on my scalp to get rid of the orange and add a bunch of highlights...hours later and tons of foils ( she didn't end up doing color on scalp or in between foils ) she said she was confident she could get rid of all of the orange by using foils, well unfortunately that didn't happen still had some lovely awful brassy brassy orange UGH! Needless to say I went to a different salon 2 weeks ago and had a complete over haul for 8 hours to correct EVERYTHING! Over $500 down the drain at SALON ELAN! And another $300 to correct it at a different salon! Devastating and this MOM OF 3 Doesn't have time for this! I did a lot of research prior to my appointment and was so very excited to be a loyal client for life. I was also shocked that management or an owner didn't call me to follow up as a courtesy! A phone call to follow up and a full or partial refund would have been appreciated, any sort of acknowledgement of being in the salon 3 times in a week would...
Read moreUnfortunately my experience at Elan Salon did not go as planned. I was so excited to change my look and was looking forward to changing my hair color to Balyage and an appointment was set up with Casey. Although i can not speak on behalf of the entire salon i can say that "Casey" was very unprofessional. I did have many questions that i asked her to make sure there was no hesitation to what i wanted to achieve that day especially after i was quoted a price of $286.00. It was apparent that Casey did not have the patience or the time for me (although i was given a 3 hour appointment ) because she than suggested it would be best if i leave. I still have NO IDEA as to why she "treated" me that way as i would've been a New Client to both her and the salon. I felt so good about myself when i arrived and felt horrible as i left. Noone should ever be treated that way and she's in a business to make people feel better about themselves. As a professional myself, i could not fathom why she would rather lose a paying customer and sit around for that time with nothing to do rather than gain a customer. . As a response to the owners comment on this matter- I DID NOT have a Budget in mind as money is never an issue and I never had options from other hairdressers . That was my first time at the salon and the last time but after Casey’s attitude on that day and to ask me to get up from her chair (which is so rude) basically because she was too lazy to take the time to work with me I no longer had intentions to get my hair done . I’ve since found a great salon that I love and I have sent many friends and...
Read moreI unfortunately had a terrible experience with my coloring service.
Before my appointment I called and explained in detail what I needed and was told which service to book. I followed their instructions and booked online.
While discussing the service at the beginning of my appointment, the stylist asked if I usually used toner at other salons and I said yes. Afterward, the stylist barely spoke to me and didn't take the time to ask about the basics, like which side I parted my hair on or my hair type. I finished in the bowl and she proceeded to cut my wet bangs in the middle and didn't touch the sides/edging even though I specially requested curtain bangs. My hair is curly and needs some product + air dry to style properly, but she just roughly dried some of it to "show me the color" and put zero product in, so I left with straw-textured hair and my natural curls/waves a mess.
I went to pay and the price came back significantly more expensive than the quote I got online. When I asked to see a breakdown of the service, they initially just said that they'd send a receipt. I pressed to learn the cost of each individual aspect of the appointment, and they explained I'd been charged an additional $50 for "gloss." I told them I'd never agreed to a gloss/glaze, and they said it was the same thing as toner, which is simply not true.
I feel very frustrated in the lack of transparency and poor communication. For $320, I'd expect basic communication and customer service. I would not recommend this...
