I recently had the pleasure of brunching at the Black Bear Diner located between Tropicana and Jones in Las Vegas, accompanied by my wife and a visiting couple from Phoenix. The experience was delightful from start to finish. The diner’s ambiance strikes a charming balance, offering a cozy yet inviting atmosphere that’s perfect for both casual outings and special gatherings.
Our group decided to indulge and ordered a variety of dishes, and I’m pleased to report that each one was a hit. The menu at Black Bear Diner is extensive, ensuring that there’s something for everyone, from hearty breakfast classics to satisfying lunch options. What stood out to me was not just the quality of the food, which was undeniably delicious, but also the portions, which were generous to say the least. It’s the kind of place where you’re guaranteed to leave with a full stomach and a smile on your face.
Service was another highlight of our visit. The staff was efficient and attentive, ensuring our orders were taken promptly and our needs met without delay. It’s always refreshing to find a spot where the service complements the dining experience, and Black Bear Diner excelled in this regard.
The bill came to $93 for the four of us, which I found to be quite reasonable considering the amount and quality of food we enjoyed. It’s the type of value that makes Black Bear Diner a safe bet for anyone looking for a reliable casual dining experience.
In summary, my visit to Black Bear Diner was a thoroughly enjoyable one. From the inviting location and swift service to the scrumptious food, everything aligned to create a memorable meal. It’s a place that’s definitely on my list for a return visit, and I’d recommend it to anyone in the Las Vegas area looking for a satisfying...
Read moreAny chance we get to eat at Black Bear Diner is a happy moment for us , but today was not a happy moment at all. We walked in and were asked if we wanted a booth or a table, we chose sitting at a booth because there were several open and just really didn't want to be in the middle of the restaurant in the open trying to eat while people are walking everywhere! Big mistake, we were seated right dead next to the kitchen and the dishwashing area, it was like listening to a Car Crash every thirty (30) seconds!! By this time we just couldn't move to another table because the restaurant started filling up so we just ordered our and tried to make the best of it. At the table we ordered California omelettes with red skin potatoes and toast and another meal was a two (2) egg breakfast with a hot link and biscuits and gravy. The California omelettes had absolutely zero taste, avocado wasn't ripe at all and was extremely bitter!! The two (2) egg breakfast was bad in so many ways as well, I asked for over easy eggs ( both broken yolks and over cooked, hot link had the taste of grease and the casing was very rubbery the biscuits and gravy completely lacked flavor, viscosity in the gravy and the biscuits were hard as a rock!! They did switch out my hot link with two very burned sausage though. Having the pleasure of sitting next to the kitchen did give us the perfect place to watch the overwhelming amount of food being left on plates and being thrown out because I have the feeling that other customers were getting the same quality food as us... Finally, our server showed up with the check and asked if we needed boxes to go and she was met with a " absolutely not from everyone in the booth! The presentation of the food was good, but the taste was a...
Read moreIt has been years since I've been here and decided to give it another try . I have to say this time it was pretty good and filling . I got the Big Foot Chicken Fried Steak and Gravy with Grits , 3 Scrambled Eggs , and 2 Pancakes . My server was very nice and I was seated and served right away . The place was over half full which was expected since it was a Sunday afternoon . I also had coffee and a water . The Chicken Fried Steak was pretty big , they do sell a smaller one half the size . I was pretty hungry though , so I got the larger one .
It was pretty good . The last time I came here was about 5 years ago and the Chicken Fried Steak was greasy and just plain gross . That is why I never came back . I had heard from others that it was much better now , so I came back . I really like the decor too which is like a wooden cabin in Lake Tahoe or somewhere like that . They have a large menu and a big display with lots of pies to choose from . Of course I didn't finish all my meal , but I came close . I love Grits and I have to say these were just okay . I have been to only a few places here in Nevada that do grits and most are just okay except for 2 places and the best one is in Laughlin .
The pancakes were big and pretty with powdered sugar on top and two containers of syrup . I thought I might have to ask for another , but they were plenty . They were good also . The scrambled eggs were fluffy and even the coffee was pretty good . I will come back again to try other things like maybe lunch sometime . I'm so glad it has gotten better and gives me another choice to eat at...
