BlueBerry Hill on Decatur is nothing short of a Las Vegas breakfast institution—a place where timeless charm and culinary excellence converge. From the moment you step inside, you are enveloped in a homey yet vibrant atmosphere: sunlit booths, cheerful vintage signage, and the comforting hum of contented diners. It’s the kind of place that feels like coming home, yet surprises you with dishes so masterful, they redefine “comfort food.”
The star of the morning is the New Chicken Fried Chicken & Two Eggs*—a dish that exemplifies BlueBerry Hill’s dedication to scratch-made perfection. A generous chicken breast, tender and succulent, is enveloped in a homemade country breading so crisp it shatters delightfully on the first bite. This golden treasure rests atop two buttermilk biscuits, themselves crafted from scratch and baked to airy, buttery perfection. A silky, pepper-kissed gravy is lavishly draped over the ensemble, marrying each component with a silky richness that is simultaneously hearty and refined.
Accompanying this centerpiece are impeccably seasoned hash browns—each shingle of potato crisped to a perfect golden hue—and toast that strikes the ideal balance between buttery softness and a light, satisfying crunch. The two eggs, cooked to your preference, add a final flourish of protein and comfort, their yolks pooling into the gravy for an even greater depth of flavor.
Beyond the plate, the service at BlueBerry Hill is as warm and dependable as the food. Servers greet you with genuine smiles and intuitive attentiveness, ensuring coffee refill and special requests are met with gracious speed. It’s service that feels both personal and professional—an art form in itself.
In every respect, BlueBerry Hill delivers a five‑star breakfast experience: dishes steeped in tradition yet elevated by meticulous craftsmanship, an ambiance that feels both nostalgic and bright, and staff whose hospitality enhances every bite. For anyone seeking the quintessential Vegas breakfast—one that honors its roots while dazzling the palate—BlueBerry Hill on Decatur is...
Read moreI just walked in to get a carrot cake or just a slice. They were not busy. As no prices were on the display case, I asked how much it was. The cashier quoted $19.99 for the whole cake. I asked her how much just a slice was and she said $6.05. So I could decide if I wanted a whole cake or just a slice, I asked her WHAT percentage of the cake a slice was. After 3 minutes of her telling me she didn't understand the question and me asking 4 different ways, she firmly told me it was a QUARTER of a cake and I confirmed her answer. It seemed rational to me--$24 for 4 slices...$20 for the whole cake. She told me to step aside while she checked out another customer from the restaurant then snatched the credit card out of my hand--both of which were rude. It is also unsecure to see my cc number rather than let me run it. She came back with a slice that was probably 1/8 of the cake in the display. I didn't bother questioning it or explaining simple fractions. I looked around at souvenirs and other desserts and kindly told her they all looked delicious--no reply, just a stare. The whole time, she acted bored, was curt, spoke with a disdainful tone of voice, acted impatient (she was just atanding there when I entered), never smiled and never thanked me.
I have made homemade carrot cake for 40 years and this was dry and had very few carrots--95% cake--I literally saw 3-1/4" pieces. The icing was delicious and plentiful with covered with chopped nuts, which is all I ate. I like carrot cake because of the CARROTS, which makes it dense/heavy and it should be very moist. I wrote this review with the hope that, in the future, customers will be treated in a welcoming, appreciative and courteous manner. I have always wanted to try Blueberry Hill and support non-franchise businesses as much as possible, but have no interest in ever going back. As the Captain said in Lonesome Dove, "I hate rudeness in a man; just won't...
Read moreThe food is always good here... When you can get it. It was 645 on a Tuesday morning and the place wasn't even full; yet waited more than 10 minutes to even get a server to take our order. We ordered breakfast and to my disgust, had a ridiculous upcharge!! This insanity with restaurants; more specifically , Blueberry Hill, are charging $2.49 per egg, per egg white substitution!! This is absolutely uncalled for! For one, I shouldn't be paying more for less egg. If you're using liquid egg white substitute; then you're not even giving me what I pay for!! It literally takes 10 seconds or less to separate a yolk from the egg white! On top of that, I asked for my egg whites; which are now an extra $4.98 charge on top of the cost of my breakfast; to be served fried well done; and even more specifically, NOT SCRAMBLED!! The egg whites I paid a severe extra charge for were served soft, wet, scrambled, and covered in gravy which was supposed to be in my chicken biscuits and not my price equivalent of "golden eggs!!" I was hungry so I didn't send my plate back, but was extremely angry. Today, neither the server nor staff was attentive, and only received "ONE CUP" of my free refill coffee, of which cost more than $4. Normally, this place has great food and a good family atmosphere; but the laziness, lack of attention to detail, and price gouging for eggs are out of control. Next time we will be going somewhere else, in which they do not take advantage of a situation in order to make a few extra bucks at the consumer expense. It just isn't worth it to be nickel and dimed for a product that wasn't even served as I'd asked for it. I shouldn't have to do that, and neither should you. But hey, if you want to spend extra for absolutely "NO REASON," then be my guest. The food is great; but I won't be taken advantage of to eat it. That just isn't worth...
