My friend invited me here I had never been here before and wanted to try it you have to be hungry if you go here there's so many choices. Unlike other cultured Foods this food is not overly seasoned some things are under seasoned and some items are very flavorful, I started out with the shrimp balls wrapped in wonton (the ones pictured look like they have shredded wonton surrounding it) I can say is OMG I would have eaten these all day, every time I been into it I would laugh because it was so loud and fantastic, but I wanted to try more I moved on to shrimp wonton which were delicious and had Watercrest little bit of onion, I had fried shrimp shell on, head on ..they always look delicious but they're so difficult to eat LOL tried the chicken wings fresh out of the fryer not a good idea wait a few moments LOL not seasoned like I thought they would be, my friend had the pork ribs she said we're delicious I did not try them she also had the shark fin wonton she didn't feel it was very fresh so she sent it back I can't recall the other items she got I had a Mai Tai it was good it was pretty sweet but still good all in all a bill came out to $58 items are carted throughout the restaurant so as the carts go by you choose what you want off the cart quite a unique way to dine they did have some menu items at the door two lobsters for $54 they had filet mignon and some desserts listed as well I only gave it at 3 this time because I wasn't really hungry and I didn't try enough items I will try next time to eat more. Items are priced per plate and as you see have three or more pieces to it the vegetables have quite a bit the noodles are a small saucer I believe the sticky rice is wrapped in banana leaf there's so many items to try and there's also a dessert cart. I will be back I want to give this restaurant the rating it deserves so I must be hungry next time...
Read moreWe have frequented this place for many years for their tasty food. However, after our experience, we will no longer do so. We placed a take-out order in person and as an employee was entering our order into the system, another grabbed the ticket from her hand saying they donât have any food and went into the kitchen. She returned telling us they were out of several items, which we said was ok. As she entered it into the system, she told us it will be a 10% surcharge if we want our food. We had to ask several questions to understand why the sudden charge and what was the reason to which she stated:
a) "you arenât paying tip so youâll need to pay the surcharge", b) "we are adding it to take-out orders starting right now", and c) "we have to make the food and it costs money"
This isnât about money for us and absolutely would pay an extra $30 fully understanding the pandemic impact on the industry and we had a large order while they were busy. But it is their attitude that was upsetting. 3 examples:
a) they would not allow us to order food without paying an added amount they chose to add at their whim which we confirmed there wasnât a surcharge with another customer paying for his take-out order, b) they told customers who asked what was happening we wouldnât pay 10% while laughing, and c) they turned away a walk-in customer saying they are out of all dim sum.
It is difficult to patronize a business who treats customers as an inconvenience and with disrespect, and what is even more sad is they treated my 84 year old father this way. We hope this provides perspective and help as you decide on a restaurant. There are other Chinese restaurants with dim sum in the area which are also very tasty and still prioritize their customers with respect for them such as Lucky House CafĂŠ who fulfilled our large order with an impeccable focus on...
Read moreWe visited this place during a trip based on a friendâs recommendation. Itâs apparently a well-known spot among locals, and I will say that the food was quite good definitely different from the frozen dim sum Iâve had in the past. However, I want to talk about the incredibly poor service. As others have mentioned, the servers pushing the carts were quite rude. Of the servers wearing red T-shirts during our visit, all of them were dismissive and unprofessional except for an older, shorter woman who was polite. The Latina women handling the drinks werenât any better. It seemed like none of the staff had any idea what good service is supposed to look like. For a restaurant with this level of reputation, proper training should be a given. The staff didnât explain anything on the menu, barely spoke, and made it clear through their tone and body language that they didnât want to be bothered. They skipped our table multiple times and never once asked if we needed anything. Even after we told them it was our first visit, no one gave us a menu or explained how things worked. When we asked for one item at a time, the server would drop it off quickly without saying a word and never returned to check on us. She spent maybe 20 seconds at our table and never came back. Eventually, after we complained, a server wearing a pink shirt (possibly a manager) came over, apologized, gave us menus, and helped us in a friendly and professional manner. I gave her a tip directly and told her not to share it, but she told me all tips are pooled. Thatâs unfortunate, because the other staff certainly didnât earn it. Itâs the responsibility of the business owner to make sure staff are properly trained. No matter how good the food is, if the service is this poor, I wonât be...
