I was in Vegas for a legal conference. While there I visited my sister and a friend. We decided to go to Mariposa and friend made the reservation. There was a storm so we were a few minutes late. When we arrived to an almost empty restaurant, we were told to have a seat to see if they can get us a table. 😳 To start, the tables that were enjoying hookah were right next to non-smoke tables. We were then seated and ordered drinks. We were told that the kitchen was about an hour behind. Because I was drinking, I wanted to order carbs to eat while we awaited our meals. The server said that we could order anything but everything in the kitchen was behind. Finally broke it down to chips. She said, ”ohhh, yea we have that.” Brought the chips. I ordered a drink with vodka (1st pic). Finished and ordered another vodka drink and received a small plastic drink. For $13. Just like the 1st drink. When I brought it to the servers attention, she told me the drinks were the same size. (2nd pic). She then came to change the drink. She poured from the plastic cup into a small glass. (3rd pic). Still not the same glass. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME COMING HERE BECAUSE THE SERVICE SUCKS, the food is mediocre and they do not have enough dishes to serve what they have on the electronic menu. BTW, my sister ordered the same drink the same time. Second time she received a totally different glass. (4th pic). Next time I’m in Vegas I’ll go somewhere that appreciates my patronage. The owner, Devon Moore, came to the table, finally, and when informed about the drink/glass situation, stated that all drinks are measured. My question is measured by what and how are the measurements made? If you have the small plastic cup that is 1/2 the size of the glass it definitely is not the same. As an aside, our server, Sophie, really attempted to make the drink situation better. That was probably the only part of my evening I could appreciate.

A Memorable Experience at Mariposa: Great Food, Exceptional Service, and Nostalgic Atmosphere I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mariposa during a visit to Vegas on Saturday, March 23rd, to celebrate my friend's 45th birthday, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we stepped in, we were enveloped in a relaxing, nostalgic atmosphere that set the tone for the evening. The food at Mariposa was simply outstanding. Each dish was expertly crafted, bursting with flavor, and beautifully presented. It was evident that the chefs put a lot of care and attention into every detail, ensuring a delightful culinary experience. (Try the pick 3 tacos and peach cobbler cheesecake, you won’t regret it!) But what truly stood out was the exceptional service we received. Our server, a remarkable 23-year-old gentleman, was attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to make our dining experience memorable. His professionalism and warm demeanor added to the overall enjoyment of the evening. Adding to the ambiance was the talented cover artist, Riya B, whose performance captivated us throughout the night. And let's not forget the host, who quickly became our new best friend with his infectious personality and genuine hospitality. A special mention goes to the staff, particularly the gray-haired gentleman, who took the time to address the crowd, welcoming us and expressing gratitude for choosing Mariposa. His sincere gesture of inviting feedback and ensuring our satisfaction truly exemplifies how to run an establishment. In conclusion, Mariposa exceeded all expectations, and I can't wait to return. If you're looking for a dining experience that combines great food, exceptional service, and a nostalgic atmosphere, look no further than Mariposa. Highly recommended!

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. This is just based on the information I gathered about their process. My cousin and I, who are from out of town, had been hearing great things about this place and decided to make a reservation online for brunch. The brunch menu was available from 11 am to 7 pm on Saturday and Sunday. We arrived at 6:40 pm and were seated at 6:50 pm. The waiter instructed us to scan the QR code to view the menu. We did so and found that we still had time to order. However, when we inquired about it, we were informed that the kitchen was closed to transition to the dinner menu. The waiter mentioned that she would speak to a manager and let us know what was going on. A few minutes later, she returned to take our drink orders. In short, we didn’t stay. After speaking with the manager (Daryl), he explained that the kitchen closed at 7 pm, but it wasn’t 7 o’clock yet. He began to explain that the kitchen was closed to prepare for the dinner menu, but we couldn’t understand why the menu said one thing and what he was saying didn’t make sense. Since we are from out of town, we were relying on the menu, and he proceeded to say that this should have been explained to us when we made the reservation. I pointed out the text I had received, but he claimed that he didn’t know where that text came from. Their system was switching over. The back-and-forth continued until 7 pm, and we were unable to get any brunch or any accommodation for their menu mishap. We will never visit again!

I arrived around nine pm on 03/19/24 Taco Tuesday. I was very aggressively asked for my Id at the door. Then I was given no direction as to where the entry door was. He just walked away. I entered the patio door around the corner and came to a circular desk which no one was Manning. I stood in the foyer for a minute or so and noticed some empty seats and went to take a seat. And as happened another time before at Mariposa, I was asked by the Hostess(???) to get up from that table because it's reserved for somebody else not me. The young girl wearing a black T-shirt told me that I would have 2 people in front of me. There was no one in the lobby when I came in. But now 2 people are sitting on the benches. She said that they would be before me and as I stepped to her desk, she said " Oh no, now it's gonna be 3 people ahead of you because 2 people had stepped up to the circular desk and were checking in. She knew that I was there before them, but she said they were 3RD in line and I would have to wait behind them. They seated me at a table in the back of the entertainment room next to an empty huge booth. A male waiter came over to take my order. 45 Minutes later, a busboy (?) in a tan T-shirt asked me if I was okay and went to check on my order. 55 minutes after I ordered. I got a plate of iceberg lettuce with generic cruton's and what looks like. ranch dressing dribbled over the top of it, which is not how the Caesar salad is portrayed on the menu. I asked the man in the tan shirt when he came back again if I could get some parmesan cheese. He went to the kitchen returning saying there was no parmesan cheese. Finally, the 1st waiter showed up 35 minutes after that and I told him that I did not get a Caesar salad. He said that he did not know that there was no Parmesan cheese for the Caesar salad. The Caesar salad did not have parmesan or the lettuce which it's usually made with and there was no Ceasar dressing tossed with it. Anyway, I took my check and gave him $5 tip for the service I was neglected of. Area where I parked had stairs blocked in front of it and after walking past the entrance to the ramp that's when I came upon the security guard (who was there then he wasn't). This was an evening that would have been more enjoyable for me at home. I have a lot of guests that come into town. I look for a place to take them and I thought this was a viable place. Besides, your people problem, I believe you would do better to improve your sound system especially for karaoke. This is a very honest critique.I hope that someone there gives a...

I visited this place as I was looking for a brunch spot in LV. They have limited seating for solo guests.. even if you have a reservation. There are 5 available seats at the bar, that’s it! Then 3 small tables that will accommodate solo diners in the back. I was eventually seated but it took a little while after me inquiring a few times. So please go with someone or be prepared to wait or not get seated. I recommend reservations as a few couples left before being seated. The food was decent, catfish definitely needed to be two full pieces and not 1 piece and half a piece. It also needed a tad bit more seasoning. There was nothing special about the grits either. The fried chicken was fire!!! My waitress was nice and professional. The DJ and the party host was a whole vibe and likely why this place gets great business. The host had good energy and just overall dope! She was amazing !The drinks were okay, not terrible but not great. This is an area of improvement for sure. I went to the bar to order a drink that had tequila, soda water, lime juice. The lady bartender did not know how to make the drink so she asked the gentleman. He makes it brings it to me. I asked what Tequila was used, he says house. I usually get Don but since I was never asked was going to suck it up and drink it, one taste, and it was way too much lime. I tell the lady that it had too much lime. She says well you got to tell us exactly how you want it. Well mam had you asked me before walking away I could have explained how to make a ranch water. I order this drink every where and the first question most bar tenders ask is what Tequila do you want? Both bartenders were rude and had bad energy. Neither he nor she were friendly. My advice to the owners is get some happier and more skilled bartenders. It will surely improve your business. Good energy is magnetic but bad energy does not go away!!! Bottomless mimosas a plus! Overall I would give the place a 3.8 maybe even a 4… because of the bartenders and food they get a 3. Finally, security was very friendly and even pat you down and checked your bag before going inside. I felt pretty safe and had a good time in spite of the interaction at the bar. The Location was not too far...

I’m a big supporter of black-owned businesses, but my first experience at this place was disappointing. My friends and I went last night to watch a fight for $40, which included a “buffet.”

Once arriving, we were quickly seated at a nice table in the main room by a hostess. However, a minute later, other guests arrived and claimed we were at their table. So, they moved us to a back room in the corner, right next to a loudspeaker and uncomfortable chairs with wobbly legs. The hostess didn’t offer any apology for the inconvenience.

The table was supposed to be for four, but it was only set for two people. I asked for napkins but that was never brought to us. Consequently, we ended up sharing napkins and eating with our hands.

Once seated, we waited for the fried food buffet, which offered four options. Everyone had to carry 2 plates because they were appetizer plates. Food was replenished every so often. People stood in line waiting for food bc at times there was nothing there. I believe they might have been overwhelmed with the number of guests. The staff seemed understaffed for such a large event.

We ordered a hookah from our server, but she had no idea what it was or what the flavors were. So, we simply ordered whatever. Not knowing what it was. She and everyone working there had the worst attitudes. Instead of smiling and being welcome.

When the hookah arrived, another lady came back and informed us that it was $54. I was taken aback because she hadn’t mentioned a price before. At a Mediterranean hookah lounge, hookah is usually priced at around $25-30 whether there is an event or not. Therefore, this was an extremely overpriced item.

To make matters worse, the hookah itself was not good. The person who prepared it seemed clueless about what they were doing. They also refused to provide more coals, so the hookah lasted only about 30 minutes because it wasn’t properly prepared.

Everything about the experience was disappointing. The DJ was playing music during the fight, so we couldn’t even hear the TVs. The service was terrible.

I won’t be returning to this place. The only saving grace was the shrimp. I was only able to have 3. For the price and what we experienced, we...
