I came here about 2 years ago when this restaurant was under the name Main Moon. I am pretty sure it is different owner since the food is much better and the decor so much better than the original restaurant. Main Moon was not terrible but I am not really into Chinese American food such as panda express or PF Chang. That being said, I will start with the overall decor and menu of the restaurant. They have renovated the whole restaurant and it's very light. The menu is quite large mixed with traditional and American style Chinese food. The price is a little bit expensive in compare to other Chinese restaurant but portion size it is quite big. I ordered off the lunch menu and had the Yuxiang Eggplant with the wonton soup. The wonton soup was absolutely delicious - not too salty and not to bland in taste. There was a lot of eggplant and all of it was fresh. It was a bit sweet but not too heavy on flavor. The eggs roll I read on one review saying it was oily but I did not find it oily at all. Overall it was a pleasant surprise for me because often times I find it hard to like Chinese restaurants since most are more on American style cooking.
The waitress was very friendly and she said they have a mix of both American and traditional Chinese cooking so there is something for everyone. I would definitely recommend trying this restaurant.
I mostly eat vegetarian dishes but when I come back I will post more pictures.
EDIT review: unfortunately it has changed to American Chinese. The food was overly sweet and salty. The soup was very cold and the wonton stip that came with it was stale. The waitress was rude and not friendly. Maybe having a bad day and did not want to be...
Read moreToday I ordered takeouts (1) Garlic Shredded Pork and (2) Beef Tendon & Tripe in Red Chill Sauce off the menu on website. When I arrived home and open one container, I saw I got chicken instead of beef tendon and tripe. I drove back to the restaurant, told the owner I don’t eat chicken at all and asked him if he can exchange to the right dish, he said I used information on a wrong menu so they are not responsible. Ok. I don’t blame him and I left. When I was back home again, I found no rice in the takeout. But when I was placing the order on phone, I specifically asked if they come with white rice and he said yes. I did not want to spend another 30 mins drive back and forth again, so I cooked rice myself. When rice was ready, I opened both takeout containers, I saw Garlic Shredded Pork was hard pork meat in dark sauce. Ouch. It does not look like what I ordered again at all, and this dish definitely is on their menu, and I absolutely did not make an error when ordering it. I know Sichuan food very well, the authentic Garlic Shredded Pork should be tender pork of its original color in chilly garlic oil. I had a bite, it tasted awful, nothing like what it should be. Very disappointed, though I was very hungry, I could not eat them. I threw both dishes in trash. Later I had instance noodle instead. I have taken my family and friends to eat there about 3 times before. Though every time I had encountered one issue or another, I understood it is not easy to run a small restaurant business and wanted to be supportive and I always left nice tips. But this time it gave me the worst experience. I will not go back there again. Sorry, this is the first time I posted a...
Read moreGreat Sichuan Cuisine, however I would not say authentic since there is deviations. Too much MSG, I had to drink lots of water after the dinner.
We came here due to friend’s recommendation. We were the first customers for dinner. The waiter was OK nothing special or impressive. My family ordered much more than what I could eat just to taste their signature dashes. Overall was good, I rate 4-star as some dishes need improvements.
Here are more details;
(1) Hot Sour Soup 酸辣汤, 3-Star: it’s hot and spicy but missing sour taste. Too much white peeper over-wrote other ingredients’ flavors.
(2) Sichuan Cold Noodles 四川凉面 4-star: we like it. Not too spicy but includes sweet and vinegar tastes great appetizer.
(3) Chingqing Spicy Noodle 重庆小面3-Star: not authentic but tasty. The noodle was saggy and lost texture.
(4) Kong Pao Chicken 宫保鸡丁 was the 5-Star dishe. Very authentic Sichuan cuisine. The chicken had crispy outer layer but tender inside. All the peanuts are fresh and crispy. Awesome!
(5) Fish with Toufu 豆花鱼, 3-Star: come on, too much flour covering on fish. When I ate the fish, I felt like eating a dumping.
(6) Di Dan Xian 地三鲜,4-star: this is not part of Sichuan Cuisine but rather northern Chinese food. Ok but not great. The eggplant is smashed and a little salty. The whole dish missed...
