Never again. EVER. And this is because of the unbelievably rude and argumentative "manager" here! We went in the other day. This was our first time here and our LAST. We had been shopping for hours as this is a huge place. A gentleman came and gently told us they were closing soon. We apologized profusely to him that we had no idea, he said there was an announcement, and that it is indeed hard to hear. We would never linger at closing or take our time after finding this out. At all. I immediately said, oh gosh I am so so sorry, we had no idea. I went and grabbed what I wanted to buy and went to the cashier. I said there was something that had been locked up that I wanted, is that ok? (I thought you asked at the register when checking out. I had never been here) So I did. I heard no less than 5 times We're Closed. (They sure as hell still took my money if they were "closed") The cashier said ask the manager. The manager came up and said you should bring your items to the front to check out. I said if it had been unlocked, we would have. She's arguing with me. Raising her voice with an attitude! She said, well ask one of us! I said that was what I was doing right then. So the guy comes and takes me to get the item. He was an older gentleman, super nice. I came back to the front and said he was as nice as he could be. The manager said, Well, I'm sorry I'm not, we want to go home! I could not believe a manager was talking to a customer like this. I said I am spending over a hundred dollars here. (It doesn't matter if I was spending $5 or nothing at all! You should treat customers with kindness and respect) The cashier took some information, and I said we won't be back to the cashier. The manager yells out, Well, you'll be missing out! I looked at my mom and said Hardly. I don't think so. This manager woman was fired up because it was a couple minutes after their closing time. Mind you, we were there most of the day. We didn't show up at closing. Didn't keep shopping around when the guy warned us of closing time. We would never ever do this. It was an honest mistake. We had no clue at all they were closing and immediately went to the register after we were told. If I hadn't been looking for hours for what I found, I would have laid it all down and not bought a thing! But I've learned over the years I am not going to let some rude A-hole keep me from having the things I want. So I paid and left and thanked the guy for his help again. (He was very sweet) The manager did not say thanks, no goodbye, no kiss my butt, no nothing. She did not give a crap I had spent $100, just did not care about anything except those 5 whole minutes that was after closing. She was getting whistle bit and hollering at the customers!. You would have thought we showed up 5 minutes before closing and asked for all kinds of help. She was the rudest, most argumentative, smartass "manager" I have ever come across in any store. If I hadn't been standing there next to my sweet mother, this woman would have got an earful. You don't treat people like that and make them feel about as unwelcome as I have ever felt in a store. It is no wonder there are so many negative reviews here for the rudeness at this place. And I see even in the responses here on this page, they are defensive and rude so I expect to reply again. We will never step foot in here again and I can't wait to tell everyone I know or come across just how bad my experience was here because of her and her crappy, mean, and nasty attitude. STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE.UPDATE: LIES.She did not come to me at all, my mom went to her AFTER the cashier saidAsk the manager, just like I said. They were not trying to talk to me.She is trying to make me sound irrational. The nerve she has by saying I "finally let the floor manager help me"As if I was talking too much. When I was standing there waiting. And she did NOT apologize after I got back, when I said the man was as nice as he could be.She yelled,"Sorry I'm not, we want to go home!" That is a sarcastic response, not an apology. She is...
Read morelovely looking store with rather good prices on porcelain objects, they’re my favorite things to collect from thrift stores or antique malls such as this one. ive only been here twice, once was about 2 hours before close - we weren’t aware of that until the announcement came up, we left shortly after that. no problems. HOWEVER. today, we went for one of my good friend’s birthdays, we all enjoy antique items, so we decided here would be a good gathering for everyone. my girlfriend had gone to buy a hunting knife, and ended up having to kindly ask one of the employees due to it being in a closed case. afterward, we weren’t done shopping, so she had asked a lady at the register to hold onto the item for her. afterward, we had gone to look for a jewelry jar, there were many of us and we had always wanted one. while we were both walking over, one of the ladies - the same one who helped us with the case… never caught her name - rudely asked “what is it you need now?!” to which my girlfriend politely responded, ‘nothing ma’am, we were just looking around.’ mind you, this was nowhere near closing. so she had no reason to be aggravated, we weren’t asking for anything - just walking by. earlier today, BEFORE the hunting knife situation, i had found an adorable porcelain angel along with a bird. once i had gone to check-out, a NICER and more PROFESSIONAL lady, named sara, had told me it was in a pair. she made me aware of this because the price was for two angels instead of one. she had asked that same lady from before if she could go look for the other pair where i found it. i had offered to look myself, but she insisted. that rude lady had proceeded to accuse me of SHOPLIFTING. she claimed that maybe i had stuffed the other angel in my pocket, even though i wouldn’t even have a reason to do so. the angel would be the same price with or without its pair. i wasn’t even aware of the other angel until i arrived at the register… i ignored the lady because i didn’t find her worth my time. when my girlfriend went to the register to check out the jewelry jar, that rude lady had pointed out how she’s “back again.” not in a joking tone, but more of a condescending manner. we had a bad experience truly only because of that specific lady. when my mother made a call on behalf of me (due to me still being out and about,) she tripped over her words and didn’t even apologize. just made excuses about how the shoplifting comment “isn’t what she meant.” even though i heard her follow-up with “i was trailing behind those girls before, you can’t be too sure.” WHILE I WAS AT THE REGISTER… if you have a snarky comment to make about someone, at least wait until they’re AWAY from your register. reconsider how you train your staff !!!! 😒
UPDATE/RESPONSE - you know what, thank you for clarifying the misunderstanding with me. even though i am skeptical for my own reasons, as i am pretty sure of what i heard. although, i stick by what i said before. i read your response to the other review left by sarah, and since you told her it wouldnt be best for her to shop here, i wont be returning either. neither will a chunk of us. thank you for the apology. ps, if you find that one specific employee to be simply “loud,” then i recommend she work on her tone of voice when speaking to customers, as judged by other reviews, it can cause misunderstandings or for people to...
