Whataburger — Restaurant in Spring

They don’t treat their OWN employees with respect or curtesy, the nightshift manager will ignore the needs of employees with visible health issues. I walked in the restroom and heard a coughing and come to find out an employee was coughing up blood and to nauseas to walk or stand up correctly, I then asked the employee “why don’t you go home you shouldn’t be working under those conditions “ and the employee then informed me that the manager did not care and that the employee had to continue working.. for 6 more hours...but was already coughing up blood just TWO hours in...sad, the employee couldn’t even call out sick due to them not having medical insurance so they could never get a doctors note.I feel so bad for those employees. Not to even mention the numerous times the tall black overnight manager left the store on the clock to go get food from other fast food places. Knowing that leaving any restaurant unmanaged is unsafe, against policy and illegal. This location specifically is TERRIBLE, from what a few overnight employees told me, they FORCE certain workers do overnight shifts WITHOUT paying them the overnight wage(around $10.50) or they would get a write up. i could go on and on about the amount of disrespect, sexism, & broken policies these overnight managers push onto the younger adult employees. but I cannot, the overnight management team deserves to be fired and the other overnight employees DESERVE THE PAY/RESPECT THEY WORK FOR. This behavior does not live up to the family name... i am very disappointed in the way that this location’s overnight staff is treated. if anybody is to get fired it’s should be the overnight managers. In my experience as someone who used to regularly dine in at this location: Most of the management team needs to learn how to respect their employees. I could constantly hear managers talking down to & outright disrespecting/ yelling at their own employees from the dining area, while they were all in the kitchen.

Today I decided to give this location one last shot, since it’s the closest to where I work. I was in line getting ready to order, when I saw and overheard a manager (female, very short hair, I think I heard the name Jenny or penny) taking on, what I would consider to be a very disrespectful tone with a young man who was clearly working hard. However it appeared that this young man had the audacity sarcasm to question that particular tone. That’s when she started yelling at him. Every time he would say something, she just yelled louder. I wanted to walk around the counter and give the poor guy a hug, because it seemed infuriating trying to communicate politely with someone acting in such a way.

In the past, I’ve spent nearly a decade as a manager of a couple different fast food joints and there’s no reason to ever talk to an employee in the manner that I witnessed today. I was so angry that I immediately left without ordering. I’m not giving this location any more of my money.

Message to this Whataburger’s Management Team: Learn to respect your employees, it makes them give a damn about their job and the quality of their work will also improve. The old “us against them” mentality is not a productive one.

I had an interview here and decided after to get a sandwhich bc yk I was hungry and might as well. On my way home im just thinking ab my meal, anyways I finally make it home and begin eating. Why in the MIDDLE of my sweet and spicy burger is a longgggg blonde hair that I had to pull from my mouth. Ts was so foul I had to make an insta post, but everybody ig is private to friends and family. Why the video I made ab being disgusting ab a hair in my burger, my friend who works there go show them the vid, then they had the audacity to say “oh he’s def not getting a job now”. Fair enough but what makes u think I wanna work back there with people having hair in the middle of peoples burgers. But lowkey I thought they were joking ab the not getting the job. Like two hrs pass and I get that rejection email, and it wasn’t even ab the job anymore it was the principal, cuz I didn’t even location drop… wasn’t on em like that. So I went back to ig and but a location on that trifiling mishap, then when on tiktok and posted a 3 min vid ab this location. I didn’t get a sorry or no type of apologies. Moral of the story check the inside of ur burgers before eating them, cuz obviously the “hairnets” they wear all the time are...
