I checked out reviews before swinging in here on my way home - I saw they had authentic Tamal Pollos and I was all-in. They also had pork as well. For only $6.99 each! They did not disappoint! Wrapped in banana leaves and served with an incredible red onion slaw and spicy green sauce that was drinkable - AMAZING. Cooked perfectly and the filling was amazing. The chicken was definitely my favorite out of the two options and the red onion slaw was some of the best I’ve ever had. It perfectly complemented the tamale, coupled with the spicy green sauce - it was hungry-foodie-heaven. I got out of there for way less than $20. Nicole greeted me as soon as I walked in & she was incredibly friendly, very informative regarding the menu - answering all my questions. She was very attentive and just so kind! Thanks Nicole! “I’ll be back” in my worst/best Arnold impression. Also, this place had an incredibly nice, very well kept bathroom. The dining area is small but incredibly cute, cozy and clean! Love this gem of a find. If I hadn’t stuffed myself to capacity with the 2 huge (Nicole warned me but you can’t tell me nothin’) tamales, I would have gone for some of the rotisserie chicken - it looks amazing. They have a daily special board (I’m on it - see photos) along with a cute inspirational quote of the day. Nice touches like these are everything when you’re surrounded by good food stops. Great atmosphere to go with great,...
Read moreInka Brasas Peruvian Cuisine overall had good food. The chaufa with beef and lomo saltado were tasty. The anticuchos were good, but a bit tough. The calamari was nothing out of the ordinary, but the tartar sauce was divine. The potatoes and yuca that came with the items were good too. The aji verde sauce is a must try, be sure to ask for it.
While the food was mostly good with excellent presentation, the portion sizes of the lomo saltado and calamari did not match up to their steep price points. The calamari, in my opinion, was more breadcrumb-y than protein for a good portion of it. With that being said, the chaufa was filled with protein.
Unfortunately for a restaurant with good food like this, the service left a lot to be desired. While the service was friendly, it was quite inattentive and clumsy. Forgetting sauces that were part of the menu description, barely checking on us, forgetting to bring to-go boxes after requesting them. We had to get up a couple of times and go up to the counter to grab their attention.
This establishment has great potential with their food. Only if the service matched their food, they would be elevated to...
Read moreThe restaurant feels like a small place for a peruvian restaurant, which is not too bad but if it gets real busy then you may have to wait for a table.. When i went there with my kids we had to wait a good while for them to come and get our orders, i understand the restaurant is fairly new and they are trying their best so i get that. I ordered Pescado a lo macho, it came without rice and i had to order a extra side of rice, however later on when i was at home i realized the plate included rice but they just brought the dish without rice so i had to pay extra for it.. fine, no problem. My son ordered salchipapa, ok i get the fact that salchipapa is about fries and sliced pieces of hot dogs, but at least put something like lettuce or something else to make the presentation looking better.. $10 for only fries and hot dogs? Uhmm.. also mayo, mustard and ketchup should be kept in proper plastic bottles so it could be easier to serve and easier to handle. Tallarines verdes were good, tamales were good, people are very friendly and i like that.. overall im not disappointed at all but im sure there are plenty of room for...
