The Boba Shop — Restaurant in Spring

TL;DR: Stopped in one evening after spotting the place passing by. 10/10 would tea again.

Awesome couple running the place; super friendly and they genuinely seem to love what they are making. After hanging out in the corner for a little while drinking a mango/strawberry smoothie with boba and snacking on a chicken sandwich and dumplings it was readily apparent the owners have a steady flow of regulars walking through the door.

On the way over, I had been mulling over what drink I would be enjoying this particular evening and had settled on mango with boba (if they had it... But I mean come on, what teahouse worth its tapioca doesn't have mango) Upon arriving my wife and I looked at the menus, I verified the drink I wanted was available and ordered. When ordering the owner suggested adding strawberry. I almost always take an owners suggestion, so I opted for that. The drink was flavorful, not crazy sweet, had the perfect amount of tapioca at the bottom, and was a great consistency. Definitely look forward to trying the other flavors and tea options.

Now for the food. Try the dumplings. I can't recommend them enough. Served in what I can only describe as a chicken bucket, these suckers were awesome. Just the right amount of flavor that you don't even need sauce to enjoy. Though they aren't hurt by the by some soy sauce if you decide to add some. As I mentioned, I also tried the chicken sandwich. Also very good. When the sandwich came out I was expecting the usual banh mi faire around town(bread that shreds you gums, butter, and dry meat covered in pickled veggies), but was surprised after the first bite. The baguette used is fresh and not yet petrified, the chicken moist, tender and full of flavor. Then, the surprise; instead of the bottom of the sandwich layered in a buttery coat there is a flavorful slaw that ties the whole thing together. Really good stuff.

If you've made it this far, like I said at the beginning, I definitely will be coming back. Hopefully adding myself to the flow...

On Wednesday September 3rd I place an order from The Boba Shop with DoorDash for potstickers all went well order was on time no problem. Once we were eating we discovered something that looked like plastic in the potstickers, well it ended up being wax paper or parchment paper. I contacted the shop spoke to the manager and explained our findings in the food and how disappointing this was, her response to me was to give me a refund or store credit. I told her I didn’t want food from there anymore and she continued to offer a store credit and went on with her saying head wasn’t in the game because she had been cleaning most of the day, whatever she meant by that. I then asked to speak to the owner because I wasn’t getting anywhere with her she’s said she couldn’t do more then the store credit so I explained that this could have turned out bad, someone could have choked on this. She would not let me speak or put me contact with the owner, then said she would have the owner return me call. I waited and didn’t receive a call the night or the next day, I called again Thursday employee that I talked to said she would have a manager call me and still no call back. I called again Friday and now they will not even answer my calls. This is unacceptable and irresponsible I have pictures to show what I found in our meal.
