Prohibition Texas — Restaurant in Spring

Been a few times and overall have had a pleasant experience. Weird thing is every Time we go back it just keeps sliding downhill. Last night was rough. Showed up around 10ish, and inside was pretty full so we opted to sit outside like we always do. Looked like TWO employees running a Saturday night. One bartender one server. It is what it is i guess no one seems to want to work so i had no issue waiting for them to come out. Got a couple of drinks ordered and they gave us waters which was nice. I asked for some appetizers but was told the kitchen closes at 8. Fair enough, but they are missing out on food sales that's for sure. Drinks took a little while which was ok as we weren't in a rush, but what bugged me, they come out while we were enjoying our drinks and mentioned its already time for last call for alcohol lol. It was 10:38!!! Their posted time to close is 12am WTH. I did notice quite a few customers walking in and out probably because of looking for food or at least a place to actually sit and drink without the fear of getting kicked out before the actual posted time. I totally understand getting cleared up and wanting to go home, but with the amount of people that were drinking and having a good time, they are missing out on a huge opportunity of people ordering more drinks. I appreciate the heads up on a last call, just not with an hour or more to go in my night. I have always liked this place, but it's really going downhill and for what they charge for drinks and food, we plan to look elsewhere for a place that is a little more professional and caring. The drinks are good but the old fashioned is a little small compared to what I’ve gotten at other places. Prices are reasonable - fried pickles are amazing. The reason for the low rating was the service. Had a lady server who was great, then got a guy server and we put in order for fried pickles. He was socializing with some friends at another table, then 20 min later we ask about the pickles, he goes to check, comes back and shrugs his shoulders and proceeds to tell us sorry some other waiter got them but no worries, I’ll put another order in. He then goes back to socializing, and again , 20 min goes by and I ask to get the check and we can just cancel the pickles. He says oh they’re in the window- only looks over when we asked about it, and then boxes them and we try a few as he grabs the check. They’re cold, they were sitting there for who knows how long- dude was too busy socializing to even check, AFTER he already had to put in order again. I just wanted to get out at that point in time- and you would think there would be some sort of comp for the issues, but nope. He just said sorry and have a good night. If we go back again, we will make sure not to get him. Also- smoke smell is quite strong from upstairs as we were sitting near the bottom of the stairs. Either get better air filtration, or label your place as a cigar lounge and bar. No one who doesn’t smoke wants to smell it when...

My husband and I came in at 9 and sat at the bar. We chose this restaurant because it was date night, it was close to our house and they're open until 10. We ordered drinks and asked for a food menu. The bartender told us that she would check and see if they we're still serving food. She came back and said yes but we had to order right then. We just ordered 2 appetizers since it seemed like getting food would be an inconvenience. Food was amazing. One of the best spinach dips I've had. And the pretzel cheese sauce was really good although I do think it should have been mentioned that it had horseradish in it. My husband wasn't a fan. I can't remember the name of the cocktail I got but it was good. We were going to order another round but at 9:27 she told us it was last call. 33 minutes before closing? Then we sat on the patio while my husband finished his beer. A group of ladies came in after that and were served drinks. I would have gotten another $10 cocktail and my husband would have gotten another beer. The restaurant had maybe 3 or 4 tables sat. I understand closing early if it's dead. But you can't last call 2 guests and then change your mind when 3 people walk in. We felt extremely rushed from the beginning. Bartender was nice and polite besides that. We were just turned off and will probably not plan this location for date...
