Martha Gene Boutique & Hat Bar — Local services in Spring

Won’t EVER give this boutique my business again! We came into town from 2 hours away for a family holiday shopping trip. My ten year old daughter built a purse with three patches on it as a Christmas gift. It was pressed, I paid for it and they put into the bag that I then put in my car. The next morning, one of the patches had come about 3/4 off of the purse. After not being touched or used once, it was falling apart. In the store, NO ONE told me that they couldn’t guarantee that the patches would stick because they didn’t make the patches in house. Not ONCE did they make sure that I knew there were no refunds. When my mom (who lives nearby) brought the bag to ask for a refund, she was told that they could press the patch again and give us a $15 store credit. I did not want to give my little girl a gift for Christmas that was already FALLING APART. I wanted my money back to purchase something else that I could confidently give my daughter knowing it wouldn’t embarrass her by falling apart. I’m incredibly disappointed with my experience at this establishment. My friend, visiting from out of country, and I thought it would be special to make personalized charm bracelets. We were explicitly told that both the bracelets and the charms were GOLD-PLATED.

We spent a considerable amount of money, trusting that the quality would reflect the price. Within just a few days of wear the charms began falling off, and several started to tarnish. It became clear we had been misled.

We reached out to Krysta Miles with photo evidence to request a refund. From the beginning, she was dismissive and minimizing the situation and misrepresenting the value of our purchase. After repeated follow-ups, she finally offered only $25 back, despite the clear issue with product quality.

Incredibly disappointed with my experience here. I recently visited my friend in Texas and we stopped into this store while touring Old Town Spring. Wanting to purchase a souvenir, we chose to build our own charm bracelets at their charm bar. The staff assured us that the charms were 14k gold plated, however, it became clear this was false information after they began aggressively tarnishing within 48 hours. The charms were also closed on poorly, which resulted in my friend losing one almost immediately.
