I want to start off by saying that the food has NOTHING to do with this review. It was amazing!!! However, I cannot say the same about our service. I work in the restaurant industry so it takes a lot for me to have a bad experience at a restaurant. Firstly, when we walked in the host acted like she didn’t want to be there. As there was clearly open space to sit in including bar, tables, and booths (all cleaned off and ready) we were told that there was only open bar seating. We decided to sit outside because it was a nice day and we wanted to enjoy the weather. I would have loved to enjoy my meal if there wasn’t a bunch of people right beside us trying to wait for a table I definitely recommend some benches or extra seating for guest not being able to sit anywhere while they’re waiting for a table. Our server only interacted with us TWICE. Out of the whole hour we were there the only thing she did was take our order and after getting tired of waiting I had to go back inside of the restaurant to give her my card in order to pay and start a to go order. After seeing other peoples servers that were sitting outside coming in and out to help them and our coming out twice, once to take our order and then to drop off our check and food, it was extremely disappointing. Not once did we get checked up on. Not once did she ask us for more water ( we ran out). Service is an extremely important aspect to being a server. It’s literally in the name. I’m not sure what her name is but we sat at the table on the right outside the front door. I really wish we would’ve had a better time here because the food was absolutely DELICIOUS but the served is extremely lacking.
Edit: I also forgot to add the busser literally HIT HIS VAPE right in front of us while bussing the table beside us. Extremely unprofessional to do in front of customers not only eating but also waiting outside...
Read moreI have walked by Homegrown many times. It's always seems busy, and I was intrigued by some of the food I saw. However, now having gone there, I don't think I will go again.
The atmosphere is comfortable.
Some employees were kind. My server had what seemed like an annoyed attitude (like she didn't want to be there). She was definitely not friendly, but not rude. Just neutral. She never smiled. She didn't make any extra effort to make my experience enjoyable. But, maybe it was an off day for her. I was a server. I get those days can happen. She did get our food to us and refreshed our drinks timely.
The reason I don't think I'll go back is the food. I paid $17 for 2 eggs, a half handful of pork, a Tbsp of salsa, and some cubed potatoes. That is a crazy price!!!!! It tasted fine, but I can make this at home for waaaaaay cheaper. I want to go out for a unique experience that I cannot make at home. My food was not this. It was also a bit bland and boring. No creativity, and I had to add more salt. So, a no-go on the food.
Then, to top it off, one of the employees was mopping up at another table nearby, which is good to clean up a mess, but then they left the mop and bucket 5ft from our table......for most of our meal. So, I am eating overpriced food next to a smelly mop. Not pleasant at all!
So, all in all, it's a comfy place to meet up with a friend or family, but you'll spend way more than is necessary, you might get a server whose mind is elsewhere, and a smelly mop as your companion.
I'll go if someone invites me, but I won't choose...
Read moreSo, an update. - it’s all the same. Often times we find that after a few months places, relax a bit, not Home Grown. They are still just as good, tasting, and service is still awesome. One recommendation awnings over the sidewalk, these would allow shade for the outdoor seating. That said if you have not tried it, go to downtown Springdale and try it. My rating is still 7.8, a very high rating. On a true 0-10 with 5 being average. One of the highest I’ve given. We need one of these in Rogers.

Home Grown - a daytime eatery. On Emma in Springdale, AR. This is a great little place to have breakfast, or lunch. Great prices, great atmosphere, great personnel, great place over all. The food is really excellent. Like a farm to table. The food is real. Not like just the sisco stuff. It’s real meat, real veg, real artisan bread. All the good, healthy stuff. The Cuban sandwich, is highly recommended. The Chips are made in store. I recommend you try it out. Great place, may end up being a frequent stop for me. I’ll be back, My Rating: 7.8. #homegrownspringdale #eatlocal #eathealty #eathomegrown #local #localbusiness #shoplocal #soringdalearkansas...
