We will be back! The food is amazing on its own. It's not a slight variation of something I've had before, the food is completely unique to this business and it's.... so good. Like soooo so good. "So good" doesn't actually give it the credit it deserves, but ohmigosh.... sooooo good. (For appetizers, we got the 3 dips -10/10 recommend. I had the Quesabirria. I've never had it before. Y'all.... YUM! My husband had the Enchiladas with Poblano Sauce. He said it's the best poblano sauce he's ever had anywhere. We had the Tres Leches Cheese Cake for desert. I didn't even know something was missing from Tres Leches cake. Now I'm not sure I can ever have it any other way.) Then there is the service. I raved to our server how great everything was, but I forgot to thank him for being so great too. I left feeling like I needed to go back and tell him how wonderful he was. I didn't. But I wanted to. The service was absolutely 1st class. Our server was very personable and knowledgeable. He gave excellent recommendations and had excellent timing. We had our toddler with us and our server created such a welcoming atmosphere for ALL of us. Everyone there was awesome. Y'all.... they even made my toddler's food first so that it had time to cool down when the food was delivered to the table and they delivered it on a fresh, cool (temp) plate. He could grab his plate, hold his food, and eat it immediately. If you have littles, I feel like you understand how big of a deal this can be. It's a small consideration that speaks HUGE volumes. And this was just one of the little considerations I noticed. Basically........
Read moreAn interesting name for the restaurant. I really doubt that a person would leave home if they had food this good.
I would consider Casa Alejo a New Mex (trendy, chic, hip) restaurant with traditional authentic roots. Not to be confused with New Mexican. As an example, some of the items from the menu: PizzaBirra, BirriaRamen, and Waffle Fry Nachos. Authentic with a modern twist. Refreshing! It was tough to decide what to try.
With a little imagination I could taste the flavor coming from the picture of the Arrachera; carne asada done right. The magnificent looking carnitas won the photo contest though. My choice. Delivered to the table was a platter of perfect pork, tender, juicy on the inside and crispy fried crunch on the outside. Rice, beans, guacamole and a chunky avocado salsa, completed the meal. Excellent and recommended.
My wife went with the Poblanas. Three steak filled enchiladas covered with a very rich, and savory, mild poblano pepper sauce. Another excellent meal.
Perfect salsas (hot and mild), and great service in a modern comfortable restaurant with a full bar. The quality of this restaurant is backed up by over one hundred perfect reviews on Google (4.9-stars)
Springdale has been rejuvenating their downtown, with beautiful upgrades to the street, sidewalk and landscaping. It is looking very nice. The street in front of Casa Alejo is now open so, close parking is again available. Enjoy!

Read moreI was craving for spanish food yesterday. So I found this little modern restaurant in Springdale, Arkansas. It's a very small town but plenty of parking. Becareful about those parking meters. I ordered their specialty alcoholic drink, their birrias tacos, and the finish off the night with some delicious churros with ice cream. Their specialty drink was to die for. I'm not much of a fan of tequila as I got older. But man, this drink went down smoothly and I thought, why order entrees when you can have this drink all night long. It had homemade natural juices, chamoy, and other liquid stuff with the tequila. Then for the main course, I order their specialty birrias tacos. It's a similar concept to the French dip sandwich you can get at an American restaurant. That dish was so delicious I couldn't see myself getting a desert. Oh well, I couldn't help it but ordered their desert churros and ice cream. My beloved waitress said that desert isn't that big and the churros has cream filling in it as how churros should be. When the desert came out, it was a big bowl with halved churros, two big scoops of ice cream, and whipped cream. I almost started to cry because the waitress lied about the size of the desert. Haha I'm sorry for giving her a hard time. I definitely recommend coming here again and please praise this restaurant. It's a one of a kind restaurant in the area and their nachoes and salsa are...
