I had the pleasure of visiting Black Apple for the first time on January 3, 2025, and I was thoroughly impressed. Its proximity to my home is a definite bonus, but the experience itself was what truly won me over. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a calm energy that made it the perfect place to unwind. Despite the holiday season being over, the Christmas-themed decorations were still up and added a festive charm to the space. I regret not taking photos to capture how beautiful it was. The service was excellent—my server was friendly, knowledgeable, and gave great recommendations, although I feel bad for not remembering her name. As for the ciders, they were exceptional. I started with a sample of the Barrel Aged Cherry, and it absolutely blew me away. The flavor was complex and delightful, but I wasn’t ready to commit to it right away. Hopefully, it will still be on the menu during my next visit. I ultimately decided on three flavors: Blackberry, Hibiscus, and Spiced Pineapple. Each was unique and delicious in its own way. My friend joined me and enjoyed the Cranberry Juniper so much that she ordered it multiple times. My only minor critique would be that our server combined both our drinks onto a single ticket without checking if we wanted separate tabs. It wasn’t a major issue, but a quick confirmation would have been appreciated. Overall, I can confidently say I’ll be back to explore more of their selection. As a cider enthusiast, I’m thrilled to have found such a fantastic spot so close to home. Edit: I only took one picture of the first drink I had. There is no food at this establishment but it looked like you can bring food in.

I cannot speak to the physical location but their retail sales side of things has zero customer service response. I've sent 4 emails to the email on their website since January about debris floating in many of my cans of Hibiscus Cider with not a SINGLE response. I've bought over 100 cases of the hibiscus cider from several liquor stores and retail locations over the last 3 years and never had a problem until a batch bearing the date/batch number of (230405) on the can. Each and every can bearing that date had slimy gunk at the bottom of the cans. Each time, I had to return them and some of them I was unable to return and just had to take that loss. The biggest kicker was the nerve to raise the prices for several liquor stores amidst this huge oversight in quality control. I reached out and gave benefit of the doubt but the lack of any type of response is disheartening and mildly concerning about the company's lack of a sense of care for the customers safety or return business. Attached are pictures I took of the debris I have found. Note that the pictures each came from DIFFERENT four-packs and even different cases bearing the same date/batch number. I have found one liquor store owner who took my concerns seriously and have not had any problems with any cans marked with (231231) but I am still highly upset with the lack of response from the company and disregard toward the issue when told about it by liquor store owners and distributors.

The best hard cider in Arkansas comes from Black Apple Crossing. We haven't even found a (even slightly) comparable option outside of Black Apple. Coming from Washington state, we know cider. That sugary concoction sold in the markets that goes by the name of Upset Orchard or something of the like is a sad, deplorable excuse of a true hard cider. Black Apple Crossing gets it, man. We head in regularly to see their current tap rotation and always fill a growler to bring home. Black Apple Crossing is a perfect spot for a date or family outing. Dogs and children are allowed which sets this apart from most breweries. Fresh popped popcorn is always available (for free) which pleases the young ones and provides the perfect salty nibble while sipping a crisp glass of cider. Non-alcoholic root beers and sparkling waters are available for purchase. There are no other food offerings at Black Apple Crossing but they allow you to bring your own in. The Taqueria across the street comes very highly recommended.

Black Apple – A Gem in Downtown Springdale

Black Apple in downtown Springdale is hands down one of my favorite spots to unwind and enjoy a great drink. As Arkansas’ first cidery, they offer a fantastic selection of ciders that are as creative as they are delicious. Whether you’re a cider enthusiast or just curious to try something new, Black Apple delivers a unique and refreshing experience every time.

The atmosphere is inviting and relaxed, making it the perfect place to hang out with friends or enjoy a laid-back evening. The staff is always welcoming and knowledgeable, ready to recommend the perfect cider based on your tastes. Each cider has its distinct flavor profile, from crisp and dry to fruity and bold, ensuring something for everyone.

What I love most about Black Apple is its commitment to using locally sourced ingredients and supporting the community. It adds a special touch to every sip, knowing you’re enjoying something truly local and crafted with care.

If you’re in downtown Springdale, Black Apple is a must-visit for a great drink, a great vibe, and a fantastic experience. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for something different in the Northwest...
