Thunderbird II of Springfield — Restaurant in Springfield Township

We’ve been coming to Thunderbird for the past two years. Food is always decent (pizza is ok, salads are great). The service is terrible and it’s always chaos inside (especially on Fridays and Saturdays). We’ve had hair in our food, missing items, messed up orders, etc. but we continued to give them the benefit of the doubt. This past Friday we ordered online for pick-up (salad and large pizza). After waiting 45 min, we arrived at Thunderbird only to be told our order never went through. They said they would expedite a pizza for us - should be about 5-10 minutes. Salad was ready in 2 minutes. Unfortunately, we waited 45 minutes for the pizza. I was disappointed to be charged full price for a mistake that wasn’t mine. I only had the cheesesteak here, but if the rest of the food taste as good as the cheesesteak did, then this is a hidden gem! If you add fried onions, sweet, & hot peppers to the cheesesteaks, it add a great balance of flavors that you might not get in a typical cheesesteak sandwich! Very worth it! The bread and steak were so tender that it added a great texture to the overall sandwich. Nick gave us the recommendation to add the sweet and hot peppers and he did not lie. Very personable and good to talk to as my wife and I were visiting the city.

I will say, the only downside which is not a real issue since they have carryout and delivery options is the sizing of the restaurant. This is not a place to sit down and eat since it is very cramped, but it is well worth it if you...

We used to order weekly when we first moved here a few years ago, but sadly now we will stop ordering. There have been multiple times we’ve ordered delivery, waiting well over and hour, and food arrived cold or incorrectly made. We have also ordered online several times, only to be called and notified what we paid for was out of stock. Odd for a Friday or Saturday when you should be fully stocked for the weekend.
