Jems Deli & Catering — Local services in Springfield Township

After driving by this place for years, I finally decided to stop in for lunch during my lunch break. I came in during what seemed like a small shift change, and you know it's a good sign when the employees who are getting done work are all lining up to order before they leave. The staff was all very kind, attentive and they seemed to work as a team very well. The deli has a little shop with the catering basics, soda, water, Gatorade, energy drinks and chips. Even with a the handful of customers, the food did not take long and my biggest takeaway is the PORTIONS. Good heavens, I don't know how the bread held on to the contents of the sandwiches. Like the three people before me, I got the chicken salad, in the form of the Chicken Salad Special and it was great! The croissant was huge and there was so much food there that you could share it with someone! I also got the large Jem's Special, as I always like to compare the Italian special at delis in this area and it did not disappoint! So much flavor in the meats and a nice sharp provolone for the cheese. Thing might have weighed a pound or two and I only could put down a few bites after that chicken salad special! My husband and I ordered food from here Monday 8/21/22 for the first time.90.00 wasted. We were so excited because most of the reviews were pretty good. We ordered 1 plain bacon burger, 1 bacon cheese burger. It was dry no season, and crumbly. I had no idea that could happen. 2 cheese steaks with extra cheese. They were not season and the meat was mush. My husband ordered a breakfast sandwich, the meat was sour. So was our extra sides of sausages and bacon. I did however like my egg white omelet with broccoli Rabe and cheese. I will say I did not call them and complain. Since that day I was dealing with faniky emergencies. First time ordering food from here. My expectations were low, but they set the bar SUPER high in this town. I got a cheesesteak and to my suprise it was the best cheesesteak ive ever had. No joke. Very cheesy but so much flavor in the meat. With every bite you get a super soft and fluffy roll, next you taste is cheese while an explosion of flavor and juice from the meat go into you mouth. Absolutly delicious. Ive never left a review but ive went out of my way just for this. I love supporting small businesses especially when theyre family owned and have the passion.
