This is typically a 4 out of 5 star place my friends and I eat lunch here at least twice a month or more. However today left a bad taste in my mouth. One order was called in and paid for over the phone and the other we called in separately and paid cash at pick up. All excited to eat our food we opened 3 boxes of buffalo pony shoes to find all of them were made differently. One was a plain breaded chicken breast on texas toast with no buffalo sauce and handful of fries. We had the second one with normal buffalo tenders and a small amount of fries and the third had one chicken tender with buffalo ripped in half and a ton of fries. I called in to the establishment as soon as we opened the boxes (less than 3 minutes from restaurant to table) and let them know we had some issues with our order. I told the server on the phone that we had a plain chicken breast instead of buffalo tenders I got told she made it personally and there was nothing wrong with it. But after a lengthy phone call I said I would just bring the food in. I drove back over and took the food to her. We were just given sauce for the plain chicken breast and they did remake the pony shoe with the tender ripped in half. While I was waiting for the one pony shoe to be re made I was informed that the tenders are always ripped in half so they know they are done and I need to tell my co workers that's how it's always been. And there is only two tenders on it. And I need to go tell them that's the way it is. It made me sad that somewhere we frequent so often had such a rude individual argue with me about how the food was supposed to be made and instead of apologizing about the messed up food order just gave me a sauce cup and "that's the way it's always been" comment I think we'll be taking a break from here for awhile. Food is great here if you get what you order and dont have to combat with a defensive server to get...
Read moreThere was hair in my husbands and my food , and when I brought it to the attention of our waitress, she tried telling me it wasn’t a hair but “stringy meat” The worst part of the whole thing (because we just simply wanted a refund ) Was when the waitress told her manager Because he thought that it was okay to start yelling at the waitress! Simply horrible and quite rude is how I would describe this “managers” behavior in front of a full restaurant full of people ! Our poor waitress was almost in tears from his rant , and I was both embarrassed and angry ! It wasn’t the waitresses fault (who had long blonde hair ) that there was short black hairs in our food , obviously someone in the back of the house was not following proper procedures or protocols in the kitchen , but the manager did not once yell or saying to the kitchen staff ! Honestly I don’t know when we will be bringing our money back to this restaurant that we frequented weekly , and as a mother of five , when we go out as a family our bill is not small , with that being said and with having been in management , if the employees feel attacked by the person that is supposed to praise them and give constructive criticism, (at times when they are not up to par or don’t know any better know how to handle certain situations, that’s just a shame ! And I can promise you that that manager is bringing down your business and making you look bad !!! Because almost every waitress in the building said that this “manager”has or had yelled that them in some capacity rather than speak to them and solve the problem They instead felt attacked , embarrassed and wrongfully blamed for things that were either out of their control or simply doing their jobs . I hope you guys get a new manager ! Until then I won’t be spending my hard earned...
Read moreThis was our second visit to Springfield. And we made a wise choice by eating at Abe’s Hideout.
First off, my kids are picky eaters and the wait staff was very friendly helping them choose the right meal.
My daughter had the cheese pizza and said “I loved this pizza.”
My son ordered the buttered noodles with marinara. It was so good, I snuck a few bites. The marinara sauce combined with the buttered noodles was incredible. They melt the butter and it sits at the bottom of the bowl and the noodles marinate in the butter. You dip that in the marinara and it’s delicious!
I ordered grilled teriyaki chicken with tater tots and fries. The chicken was cooked just right and the teriyaki glaze made it even better.
Everybody was still hungry afterwards so we ordered a warm brownie topped with vanilla ice cream. My family made that disappear quickly.
The staff is awesome. There’s some cool decor on the walls. The place was clean. There is over 20 parking spots in a free lot next to the restaurant.
We will definitely return the next time we visit...
