I really like the single Ugly burger. I am not really into burgers or meat eating but this is walking distance from my house And I've been trying to build more muscle by eating more protein...So Today I tried the cauliflower burger which is fried cauliflower replacing the beef. I wasn't happy with that particular sandwich. The fried coating was like kind of too soggy and or greasy Depending on the bite. I could see the separation in the sauce from it being mixed like some of it looked white some of it looked red some of it looked orange. It had sweet pickles on it which I like on the burger but I didn't feel like it was great on the cauliflower but the cauliflower had Fiber texture that Seem like more than I've ever had before. I love Fried cauliflower and veggie sandwiches but this one isnt it for me. Don't worry I'll be back for that ugly beef burger though! I will be getting the single because at the Chesterfield location, the server Assumed I wanted a double I guess because it cost more and had two pieces of meat. I didn't see the single on the menu evidently and a double is just way too much meat. It overpowered to where I couldn't taste the other good stuff on the burger. So aside from all that it has a nice atmosphere And friendly...
Read moreI seriously thought about leaving 2 stars but I left 3. The place is clean. The staff was friendly, the smoke fries are good, and I liked one of the dipping sauces. The mixed drink was good. The tea was good. Ok, please please please... the ugly sauce or whatever it's called, which in my opinion, was a stab at big mac sauce. Doctored up thousand island or something. Yuck. I did not like it and it had way too much on the burger. I wish restaurants would quit the nonsense of trying to recreate big mac sauce. Its always a fail. Now, for the burger itself, I was extremely disappointed. To me, it looked and tasted like a frozen premade patty. If it's not, they need to figure out how to cook a burger. Several reviews talk about inconsistencies in visits. One time it's great, the next, not so much. With all the great places in town to buy fresh burger meat, if its indeed frozen and premade, knock that off. As for the burger itself, it did not hold a candle to wf Cody's down the street or the roost at Kansas and sunshine. Maybe, if I choose to go back, itll be better but I may never find out. I'm not for sure I'll go back, and as for now, I cannot recommend this place...
Read moreThe food was spectacular. I have been dying to eat at Black Sheep for a while now and just recently had the opportunity to during my visit to Springfield. I tried the drive though and was beyond surprised at the quality, quantity, and flavor of the food. You know how you typically go through a drive through restaurant/fast food and you can tell the food (even the vegetables) have been setting out for a while? If you like dollar burgers then I suppose you get what you are paying for so keep in mind you will be receiving higher quality ingredients and freshly cooked food so you will pay $7-$8 and be waiting maybe 10-15min max I would say for three burgers and fries. Definitely try the truffle mayo of you are like me and love truffles. Their homemade pickles are crunchy as unpickled cucumbers yet still tangy and sour , I wish I could buy them by the gallon. Lastly if you want the maximum drive through experience play Black Sheep by Metric while you're waiting, it's simply perfect. Can't wait to dine in on...
