After a recent interaction with the manager of the store they had mistakenly took my order for a cashew chicken and a side order of crab rangoons, I had asked for the cashew chicken and rangoons for their combo meal, this was not enough for me to have a temper so I understood the mistake and said I'd pay for the separate order of rangoons so that they don't put it to waste. I then was having difficulty understanding the swipe or insert options with the card reader and that then the manager had said "have you not done this before" I took that statement to be rude and condescending as any other customer would. I had mentioned the tone to her and asked if she talks to all customers like that and she says no just you, as if I've done something to personally offend the woman I've never met before. Then after a heated exchange of words she barraded me with all sorts of cussing and foul language, to show further unprofessionallity she was wearing jean shorts and no name tag for a general manager of a location. Also mentioning to me that the owner is her (brother in law), that tells me that their family and business modo is "if they criticize you ridicule and belittle) tells me the kind of owner her brother must be and it's a shame someone who manages a location can't remember the first rule of food service. "The customer is always right" I have had disagreements with that statement so I understood the frustration it holds. But I believe the true meaning is that it's not your intentions to the customer. It's how your actions are perceived. When you as the worker gave made an error, you are to show humility and eat what is put in front of you, don't take abuse the workers are not slaves, but de escalate the situation. A skill this general manager clearly did not have. Instead of resolving the issue, instead of making forward progress this managers only response was to throw me to another coworker who couldn't understand stand me or my frustration, after which she tried to give me a refund as my respect can be bought and threaten my name to never come to the location. This was my second time coming to that location for my partners food and I won't attribute any of my business to their ever. I ask that you do the same. The only thing I wanted was an apology and my food. To further note I understand we all have bad days, but regardless if your the worker or the customer treat them with respect. But I can support a business that can't even do he...
Read moreUpon pulling up, you see the drive-thru so I'm thinking fast food, but in reality, it is fast and it is food but the quality is amazing!!
We walked inside and placed our order at the counter with the employee who greeted us with such a warm smile! The hubs ordered the cashew chicken combo and I ordered the large beef lo mein because the difference between a regular and large is $2.
If you eat in, you get to have their soup bar for free. Your options are egg drop soup and hot and sour. Both are so delicious and some of the best we've ever had.
Our food was delivered to our table as if it were a fast casual restaurant, which we totally weren't expecting.
The portions are huge and isn't overly salted. We don't normally eat a lot of salt in our meals and are always worried that restaurant food would be salty, but here, it is lightly salted and you can always add more salt if needed. Please note that even though it's not salty, that doesn't mean it lacks flavor. This place totally understands flavor and it's awesome!!
Also, the inside of the restaurant is CLEAN! Yes, restaurants are supposed to be clean but this place is super clean. The windowsills, pillars, tops of the booths, every surface is...
Read moreExcellent Springfield Chinese with a small soup and salad bar. Coke products.
Price: $5-$6 per meal of chicken & rice, $2 more for drink & egg roll or wontons. Competitive with any other Chinese place in Springfield by price and portion.
I used to work next door and I would go here almost every day for lunch, I'd just get an order of rice and then usually on Fridays I'd get chicken & rice. Their steamed rice is in my experience the second best in Springfield, the only place I've been to that has better white rice is Golden Korean on Sunshine.
Their cashew chicken is my favorite in Springfield and they also have excellent sweet and sour, sesame, hot and spicy, general, and kung pao. They also offer a honey glazed chicken that I haven't seen at any other place in town and it's superb.
The entrees are made-to-order, their chefs, who are the same men I've seen since I first started going, have been the same the entire time, and they work extremely quickly and their coordination is apparent. So the food always comes out piping hot. We almost always get the crab rangoon, which is very...
