For the second straight time, Cafe Moxo has let me down with dreadful service.
The first time, my wife and I stopped by there on a Saturday for lunch. Now admittedly, they were busy. Also, they said it would take a little extra time to get our lunch ready because of what we ordered. I can't remember what we got, but it stated on the menu that this particular item took a bit longer than normal because of the preparation involved. I'm good with that.
What I'm absolutely not good with is the fact that it took an hour to get our food. I understand you're busy, I understand we could have ordered something different - but an hour??? Meanwhile, I've already paid for our lunch, so you've got my money. What choice do I have? Stand in line again and try to get a refund so we can go somewhere else?
Against my better judgment we went back for breakfast this last weekend. My wife snagged a table outside while I went in to order. I get up to the counter, and the guy asks me what I want. I said I'd like the baked eggs, a fruit cup.........
And he just took off. Right in the middle of me placing my order he was gone. When he came back I was still standing there waiting to finish. He just kept right on ignoring me even though I'm standing right there staring at him. OK, so I guess I'm not getting breakfast today. I could have said, "Hey I'm not done yet", I know. That's not the point. This guy clearly had no intention of helping me, so why bother?
Oh, and my wife's breakfast? She didn't complain about the eggs, so I guess they were alright. I'm not an egg person so I didn't try them. I did try the hash brown casserole, however. I think the best way I could describe them is gelatinous.
I will not...

After their reopening, it's clear they've created a fantastic space that perfectly complements their incredible food. The atmosphere in the new spot is genuinely cool and inviting. There's so much more space to relax and enjoy your meal, with both indoor and patio seating available. They've even got a separate coffee bar and a private meeting room, which is a great touch. It's clear a lot of thought went into making this a comfortable and enjoyable place to dine. And let's talk about the sandwiches – they are absolutely awesome! I recently tried the "Gobble-Gobble" (turkey on a pretzel bun with cranberry cream cheese) and it was incredibly delicious. My wife had "Ken's Club" on multigrain, and it was equally impressive. The bread is fresh, the ingredients are high-quality, and every bite is a delight. They've even added some new menu items, so there's always something new and exciting to try. Whether you're looking for a quick coffee, a delicious breakfast, or an amazing sandwich for lunch, Cafe Moxo's new location is the place to be. The friendly service and expanded space make for a truly enjoyable experience....

Since the fire, they moved to the near west side into a much larger and brighter space, with a revised menu, a coffee bar, a private room, and more outdoor seating, but still with the same great, friendly staff, and excellent food. My wife and I both had the yogurt, granola, fresh fruit parfait and a bowl of their hot oatmeal with rainsins, brown sugar, pecans, etc. This is so close to ouyr house that we'll be regular customers rather than just during the downtown farmers' market. An unfortunate loss for the market and downtown.
We've been here for breakfast and lunch. This time for breakfast before hitting the farmer's market. I had pecan French toast and my wife had baked eggs with mushrooms and red peppers. Mine came with a side of fruit, hers with baked "hash browns" and cheese. Everything was delicious. More than ample portions and reasonable prices. Try the chicken pot pie for lunch.
10/2/2023: Came for lunch. I had the chicken pot pie (delicious) and a chocolate chip cookie. Laura had the portabello mushroom sandwhich, fruit, and the breanne (sp.?) cookie,...
