Review Date: May 12th, 2015 Lauterbach Giant is indeed a bearded giant among men. He stands about 15-20 feet tall and is the iconic giant statue of Springfield, IL. While finding him is easy due to his size, trying to snap a photo of him is quite tricky. He faces the road, so trying to take a front shot is near impossible due to the busy road. Did I mention he has a beard? I want a beard!

Another one of the famous muffler men, this one is situated on the forecourt of a garage. As others have mentioned it is right next to a busy main road making it a little more difficult to photograph and you may be waiting a while to pull back out onto the road.

This giant was one of many on our cross country road trip, but he was one of the more difficult ones to photograph due to being so close to a busy road. Highly recommend a stop, but just know you may be stuck waiting for an escape for a little while

One of 4 "Muffler Men" on old Route 66. This one was probably my least favorite because of the modern setup. While I'm glad it is still in service, the surrounding area and / or placement could have been better. No real way to get a pic from the parking lot, we got ours from across the street... however several cars were in the background since the shop was open. Kinda takes away from the "Old" factor...
