First bite in, and it was like an orchestra of flavors playing in perfect harmony. The rich, fresh ingredients were unmistakable, singing their own notes yet blending seamlessly together. The spicy Calabrese drizzle danced with the Mike’s Hot Honey drizzle, creating a sweet-and-spicy combo that had me contemplating writing them a thank-you note. The garlic fennel sausage and pepperoni brought a robust, savory kick, while the ricotta crema added a creamy, dreamy touch. The Pecorino Romano and basil? The cherry (or should I say, basil leaf) on top! 🍃

The beer selection? Simple but absolutely fitting for pizza. I mean, why complicate perfection? 🍺

The staff at Sapori were incredibly friendly and personable. Once you shared your name, they remembered it and referred to you by name throughout your visit—a charming touch that made the experience feel warm and personal. 😊

Cleanliness? Spotless. Limited seating inside might make you worry, but don't! Orders fly out of the kitchen like magic, and tables open up like clockwork.⌚

I wanted to like Sapori Pizzeria & Italian Market but couldn't based on what my husband, my friend and I ordered. We arrived at 5:00 for dinner and they were already out of lasagna...which both my husband and girlfriend wanted. They settled for a roast beef sandwich (The Bear) with au jus sauce on the side. The meat lacked flavor as did the sauce and was lukewarm. I ordered a slice of cheese pizza on a New York style crust with ricotta crema drizzled on top. The cheese pizza slice...build your own slice as stated on menu... was not heated...it was sitting out with other pizza's to view and order. I thought that it would be heated up but it wasn't. The ricotta drizzle...as stated on the menu...was four plops on top of the pizza and was room temperature like the slice of pizza. If we come back...and that is a big IF...we will order something else. Also, the market was grocery food items all along the wall for purchase. While we were there I didn't notice any customers buying from the market. I feel the reason for this was because once you purchase a food item from the market you have to get back in line with all of the customers ordering food to eat or take out. It was for this reason that I did not buy a jar of spaghetti sauce. The dining room and parking lot are small. Mind you it was VERY busy...but it's a new restaurant that just opened so people are wanting to try it out. We also had to buy a bottle of wine ($35.00) because the wine we prefer, Moscato, was not available to purchase...

I recently visited Sappori Pizzeria in Springfield, and I must say, it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. I had the Italian beef sandwich, and it was magnificent. The bread upheld its integrity even after being dipped in the rich, flavorful au jus, and the beef was tender and seasoned perfectly. The giardiniera added a nice spicy kick that complemented the sandwich beautifully.

For dessert, I had a lemon tart that was delicious, though I would have liked it to be a bit more tart for a citrus dessert. However, it was still a great choice. I also tried the Italian cream cake, which was simply amazing—thanks to Noah’s recommendation.

Speaking of Noah, he was a shining example of excellent service. He was kind, welcoming, and always had a warm smile on his face. His attentiveness and genuine appreciation for the customers really stood out, making him a key reason I’ll be returning, aside from the fantastic food.

I also took some time to check out the market side and picked up a bottle of Carfagna’s vodka sauce, which I’ve heard great things about. Overall, Sappori delivered an amazing dining experience, and I can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!
