I'm writing this review on behalf of my mother who experienced horrible service on two separate occasions. I whole heartedly believe the treatment my mother recieved was due to her being Muslim, and I refuse to support an establishment that treats their customers the way my mom was treated.
The first time, my mom went out for lunch with my brother and niece. The food was $40 and included one plate of chicken biryani, chicken mukhni and naan. The food was cold and tasted old, as if they had yet to make the food for today. My mother, brother and niece left the restaurant completely unsatisfied.
The second, more egregious time, was during the lunch buffet over the weekend. Surprisingly during this buffet, there was not enough food for everyone (the only people there were my mom and her group of friends) and the food wasn't being refilled at the rate in which a buffet service should be filled. My mother and her friends had very limited options during a buffet and barely had anything on their plate.
Additionally, as my mother and her friends only eat halal/kosher meat and can only eat the chicken provided at the restaurant, there was only one chicken dish open during the buffet. When the owner's wife came out 45 minutes later, she only brought 2 pieces of chicken. Bear in mind, there are at least 5 chicken eating customers who are only being provided 2 pieces to share amongst themselves. How is anyone supposed to eat that?
Perhaps the most offensive moment came when my mother made a to-go lunch buffet box. She had been told beforehand the price would've been the same as eating inside the restaurant. Yet when my mom went to pay, the owner's wife told my mom she had to weigh the food and charge based off the weight.
This is a strange new policy that was communicated to no one. Why is my mother having to weigh the food for an all you can eat lunch buffet? When was this new policy implemented? I'd love to know because I personally know someone (who is male and doesn't look like a "typical" Muslim) who orders a to-go box all the time and has never had to weigh their food. Why did my mom have to do this and not anyone else?
I'm not at all surprised by this treatment. What saddens me more is that not only have we spent all our lives in Springfield dealing with racism, we now have to deal with racism and discrimination from other people of color. This establishment...
Read moreHey everyone, just a heads-up before you eat here. The truth is, only a couple of things—like fresh bread, a simple salad, or drinks—are made the same day. Most of the main dishes, whether it’s curries, rice, or meat, are often cooked a week in advance. They just heat it up before serving, and when the day’s over, it goes right back into the freezer for another round.
Food that’s been frozen and reheated over and over might taste fine in the moment, but it’s not great for your health in the long run.
To all my friends who love trying different cuisines: there’s nothing wrong with eating out, but make sure you’re getting food that’s truly fresh. Good food made the right way can be healthy and delicious. Sadly, places that cut corners end up serving meals that are far from their best.
Don’t just think about the craving or the price tag—think about how it’s made. Your body will thank you later.
I had Stomuch upset after I had lunch buffet here. You can even see the rice cooker which has cooked rice which is about 1...
Read moreI would give a negative 0 if It would have the option on SERVICE and Atmosphere. The woman who is their main waitress, the older woman married to the owner is TERRIBLE at her job. You can see she never had formal training on how to wait on dining guests. If you are a pretty or beautiful woman with class and elegance SHE WILL AUTOMATICALLY DESPISE YOU, THROW ITEMS ON YOUR TABLE AND PURPOSEFULLY PUT DRINKS AND DISHES IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE TO STARTLE YOU. The owner is the same exact way. He will only show whatever decency he has learned (minimal apparently) if you look less succesful. His face goes from cordial to immediately serious. If they cannot welcome ALL sorts of people they shouldnt work in the area. This is NOT what service should look like in a restaurant that serves ALL the community who come in all shapes and forms! Also do read all the bad reviews. They are TRUE! Its a dirty place. I found hairs in the food. Things...
