Cedars South — Restaurant in Springfield

My sister and I brought our kids here for dinner tonight, we grew up going to the west location so we kept our loyalty when the business moved. We were sitting in the back at the 6 top table and had a older lady with short blonde hair as our waitress, at first she asked us what drinks would we like I was first and told her I wanted water, she walked away and assumed we all wanted water without asking anyone else, she did yell over to our table and double checked if we all wanted water, our food came out at a reasonable time but when our food was brought we were missing our waffle we had to grab the attention of our waitress because she forgot. We finished our food and asked for to go boxes along with our check she passed us 4 times back and forth and we have children that are ready to GO. So we went to the counter for a faster assistance to get our check. Our waitress comes to the desk and says “next time lady’s you need to pay at your table we don’t have a register here”.- as she turns around and uses the register they don’t have??? It was very frustrating because she passed us 4 times without giving us a check after we asked for it & the attitude wasn’t necessary. We honestly probably won’t be...

I love going here with my father and grandfather, but there’s two waitresses in particular that are horrible. One has very long gray hair and always wears it in a ponytail and she took our order and literally left us alone after that. To get our drinks refilled I had to go up to a second waitress and say “hey we got abandoned can you refill our drinks?” To which she did, our waitress saw me do it, then goes “ooohhh look at you! You want a job?” And just kept repeating “you want a job?you want a job?” Girl no I want You to do YOURS not have me do it for you 😭 leave me the hell alone. It was EXTREMELY unprofessional. and the second one she has blond hair with bangs and some black framed glasses, a bit older. and she’s also kind of absent as well. she’ll come to the table one time and ask how the food is and that’s about it. We were visiting Springfield yesterday and decided to give Cedars a try for breakfast based on the reviews and menu. We got there shortly after 8 am and were promptly seated. The hostesses were friendly and efficient. Our server was excellent! We did not catch her name, but she provided wonderful, friendly service with a constant smile. She constantly refilled our coffee and water when needed. The food was served fairly quickly, and it was excellent! The three of us got omelets (2 vegetarian and 1 ham and cheese). The 3-egg omelets were huge - way bigger than what we get at some of the national chain restaurants when ordering a 3-egg omelet. The fillings were abundant and spilled out the sides. Each omelet came with a generous serving of hash browns and 2 pieces of toast. The prices were VERY reasonable, with each meal costing less than $10. We are even considering planning trips back to the area so that the timing will coincide with another opportunity to try another...
