I've had the pleasure of dining at Tong's Thai Restaurant on multiple occasions, and I can confidently say that every visit has been nothing short of extraordinary. This family-owned gem has won my heart, not only for its consistently delicious dishes but also for the genuine warmth and hospitality that makes me feel like a cherished family member. Furthermore, I must give a special shout-out to the exceptional waiter, Guy, whose exceptional service enhances the entire dining experience.

Delightful Cuisine: The menu at Tong's Thai Restaurant is a treasure trove of authentic Thai flavors. I've sampled numerous dishes here, and each one has been a culinary masterpiece. Whether you're a fan of spicy, sweet, savory, or a delightful combination of all, you're in for a treat. From the vibrant and aromatic curries to the perfectly balanced pad Thai, Tong's Thai Restaurant consistently delivers on taste and quality. The freshness of the ingredients is apparent in every bite, and the portion sizes are generous.

Warm Family Vibe: What truly sets Tong's Thai Restaurant apart is the way they make you feel. Every time I step through their doors, I'm greeted with genuine smiles and warm welcomes. It's not just a restaurant; it's a place where they treat you like a beloved family member. The owners, along with their attentive staff, create a welcoming atmosphere that's perfect for enjoying a meal with loved ones or simply savoring a quiet dinner for one. It's this family-like atmosphere that keeps me coming back.

Guy, the Exceptional Waiter: A particular highlight of my visits to Tong's Thai Restaurant is the exceptional service provided by Guy. He goes above and beyond to ensure that your dining experience is memorable. Guy is knowledgeable about the menu and always ready to provide recommendations if you're unsure about what to order. His genuine and friendly demeanor adds to the overall warm ambiance of the restaurant. Guy's attentiveness and professionalism make each visit feel special, and I truly appreciate his dedication to delivering outstanding service.

In summary, Tong's Thai Restaurant is a culinary treasure that consistently amazes with its delectable Thai dishes and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel like a part of the family. The exceptional service provided by waiter Guy is the icing on the cake, ensuring that every dining experience is a memorable one. I can't recommend Tong's Thai Restaurant enough; it's a place where you'll not only enjoy exquisite food but also leave with a heartwarming sense...

Ok who forgot to tell me about Tong's? I mean that is just cruel! If I had known about Tong's, this review would be five years old by now! I'm glad tho, because I've, unfortunately, had a recent rash of one star reviews. When I started writing reviews, I swore to myself I would not inject more negativity into a world that's already bursting at the seams with it. However, some experiences are so dreadful they need to be shared as a warning to others, in order to try to help them avoid a similar experience. I felt obligated to break a promise I made to myself multiple times and it was getting me down but now I get to write another, well deserved, five star review! Okay you're probably wondering "what about Tong's?". What about it? After sixteen years of industry work and 15 more years of appreciation, I've experienced a lot of culinary delights. I have enjoyed many delicious sensations brought on by a lot of various culinary practices from across the globe. I'll put it like this: my taste buds are jaded and they're used to just about everything. I'm hard to surprise. Tong's literally gave my mouth sensations that I had never experienced before. My wife and I ordered a salad, appetizer and two entrees, and the flavor combinations used in the entrees (all so So SO delicious) were so different from the other, it was surreal. I tried the entree she ordered after taking a few bites of mine and everything just kind of faded away as I got lost in the flavors, it seemed like none of the same seasonings were used however both dishes had flavors that would change and evolve in your mouth, while you chewed! We talked about it while we ate, she's an industry veteran as well. You know that after glow feeling new couples get after they romance each other? Well I have a quite similar after glow feeling from eating Tong's food lol. It IS that good! I have so many words at my disposal: I'm a published journalist (75 + articles, but that's an entirely different story), but all of them miserably fail to impart how good this food is. I'm speechless. Anyway, if you don't know, you should enrich your life by finding out. Who knows? Maybe you'll find your purpose in life! Maybe you'll quit drinking! Maybe your depression will be cured! Maybe you'll invent faster than light travel! I don't know, but I do know you'll be feeling better off in general after eating at Tong's!...

Let me share a new find in Springfield Missouri - The Thai Garden.

This Thai food hits differently and I am in love with the flavors, the staff and the love that goes into this food.

First off let me say it was a little emotional to go into Tong’s without seeing Tong come up to me with that big smile and great me. For those of you that don’t know Chef Tong moved back to Thailand to build and orphanage with three help of Bakers Creek Seeds and is doing very noble things back home. Yes we will all miss him and his adventurous stories but has left the restaurant in good hands with the new owners.

The new owners created a restaurant called Thai Garden. They left the ambience the same and even left a picture of Tong himself as you walk in the door.

Jenny is the owner of the new place and boy does she care about good food. On my first visit on Sunday I had the “Green Curry” and “Crab Rangoon”. Typically I do not order crab rangoon but hers just looked different on the post that I was seeing on socials. She makes them by hand and fries them fresh and they are really good. Don’t be expecting anything Gourmet, but they hit different than most crab Rangoon in the area.

The green curry is a little bit thinner that I typically get at a Thai restaurant, but the flavors are on point. You can taste the authentic passion and love behind each dish. I got to know Jenny, which is the owner and she is absolutely amazing. My server was “Ice” and she is a true gem. Very humble and very quick to serve you.

On my second visit, which was the very next day lol I ordered the chicken noodle soup which warmed up my soul.

Do not be expecting anything fancy, just expect good Thai food with lots of love. I did not eat the fish, but I’m very excited too. This is a different dish that they bring to Springfield that is native to their home. I got the picture off of Facebook From somebody that posted in the Eat Springfield group which is how I stumbled across this gem.

I really want to say thank you to the creators Eat Springfield Group and all the posts. It is groups like that that help people like me find good food.

5 Stars! We had a fantastic dinner at Thai Garden tonight. We were seated immediately, and our waitress was quick to greet us and take our drink order. I had the Thai iced tea and my wife had the hot tea—both were excellent. We started with the appetizer sampler, which included crab Rangoon, spring rolls, dumplings, and chicken satay. Everything was delicious and came with a variety of tasty sauces. For our entrées, I had the Massaman curry and my wife had the red curry, both with chicken. I ordered mine at a 1-star spice level, and it was right on the edge of too spicy for me—but the flavor was incredible and totally worth it. My wife really enjoyed hers as well. We finished with the Thai custard for dessert. I liked it, though my wife wasn’t a fan of the texture. Our waitress was kind and attentive, though a little difficult to understand at times—but it didn’t take away from the experience. The service was great, the food was flavorful, and we’ll definitely be back!

My wife and I ended up at Thai Garden on Valentines Day for our Friday date night. We had never been here before and though we would give it a try. The menu has a lot of choices and was very tough to decide. We had crab rangoon, sweet & sour crispy chicken stir fry with shrimp, Pad Thai and a Thai Tea. The crab rangoon was very good. The sweet & sour crispy chicken stir fry with shrimp was good, for being low spice it had some good kick to it. It could have used a little bit more flavor overall. The Pad Thai was good but could also use a little more flavor. Food was plentiful and the Thai Tea was very good. It was pretty busy that night and seemed to be a little under staffed so we did have to wait a little bit to get the check to pay. Nothing that would keep us from going back though. We would definitely go back and some of the other items on the menu.
