Craig's Time Out Tavern — Restaurant in Springfield

Stopped in to have a few beers and order some wings to go. Wings are their special on Wednesday. Service was friendly but too busy B. S ing with regulars to notice me. Got my wings and left. Got home to eat my wings and they were literally burnt. Now I know mistakes happen but you throw away mistakes and you don’t serve mistakes to your customer. I believe this bar is owned by the same people that own the Gridiron but they obviously have a different standard. Way below the bar compared to the Gridiron they should be embarrassed. Way too dry to eat. It was a double order and I literally threw them away and made my own dinner.

I really appreciate the owner responding. I truly would have left 0 stars if I could. Since they did respond I will go back in a week or so and return here to give feedback. I really hope they make a difference so I can change my rating of them.

8/7/23. I’m here now, super friendly staff. Waiting for my order and I’ll see if it’s a repeat or if I can raise my rating. Same order as last time. Definitely a different cook so I’m optimistic.

I watched the bartender check my wings before bring them to me. She then asked if I wanted extra dipping sauce. This time I checked them before leaving and they look great. ALWAYS have to go to the bar to order. Even when it's slow during the day. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. For all the years I've been going there. Hit or miss on the food. The staff turnover rate has been high, but 95% of them are great. Still have one or two really "clicky" NEW, offish bartenders. Especially at night. (the short blonde hair ones, both day/ night), i don't expect special treatment, just basic. I realize it gets busy. It's too small to get THAT busy though. There are 2 that are just bad at their jobs and come off as really unfriendly. (Don't expect them to last though) Customers are chill, karaoke night isn't bad, it's safe, clean, nice heated outdoor smoking area, pool tables are decent, Only problem is when the elderly players take over the tables during the day. Saw a guy win 9k at one of the machines, not many regulars come in to play anymore. It's close to home, 95% good drinks (was overcharged twice in the last 6 months) overall good service, have seen it make very positive changes over the last 2 years. I would change the amount you can leave each bartender. Instead of them just splitting it. Not every bartender deserves a 10$ tip. A rare few deserve like 2$, if anything. Daily specials. Fully refurbished interior and updated kitchen. Great wait staff, great mix master. Its Tuesday and they got tacos with all the traditional trimmings. Custom sour cream that is simply perfect to go with it. There's karaoke on Sundays and Tuesdays. Prime rib special on Friday. The cook in this place will definitely make ya happy with these specials. There are even live music nights with bands that will go from country to rock and back again. Tap list I didn't count, but in my minds eye, I think I count 10 to 14 taps. I only had eyes for a peanut butter porter that to me tastes like that stuff- Skrewball. So, sorry about that fuzzy detail. The Interior, last but not least, is open, has 3 pool tables, and around 7 to 10 new looking video poker machines in the far right corner. Iys also got both high and low tables, which are moved based on whether aband or dancing will be the evening entertainment.

Overall a great place, moderate price. Well worth your time-go hang out! ...
