Goodcents — Restaurant in Springfield

This was the first time ever at this place. It was busy and when my son and I walked in, we were never greeted. The lady that was behind the counter never once said anything to us, she just kept staring at us. We walked up closer to the counter because I figured after standing there for a few minutes we were probably ready to order. I told her my son‘s sandwich order. She looked at me and said “what is your bread?” I told her what bread he wanted and then she said “is that it?” I had my sandwich to order still so I told her everything that I wanted on my sandwich and she said nothing else to me. The next guy asked what all we would like on our sandwiches. They were good sandwiches very fresh tasting. The only problems that I had was that no tables were cleaned off but it seems that 4 people were working with 2 of them standing around and no one even tried to greet us. The Second Lady did come and partially check us out and left before I had to tap my card to pay. I think more pleasant communication would have been nice even if I did have to wiper off my own table. After sitting and eating our sandwiches we did notices that the First Lady seemed to know some of the customers and she would speak and laugh with them. My nephew and I took my great niece who is 3 years old, to the Dickerson Park Zoo. I rented a motorized wheel chair and a stroller. First of all they were both absolutely filthy with a 60% charge on wheelchair. It was 3:00 pm. Anyway, after paying a lady came up to the window and told me I need to have the wheelchair back up to the window by 4:30 or they would hold my license. Ok, I ask, don't you close at 5 pm? Yes was her answer but if I wanted my license back to have it there by 4:30. I felt the way she spoke to me was very rude. I understand bad days but if you work with the public you need some manners. I was very kind to this woman. She was embarrassing her Co worker that had been helping me. So I kindly ask if I could have a refund and come back next day (tomorrow)? She said absolutely no refunds! This zoo trip could have been a great experience for all 3 of us however this woman sucked the good energy and joy smooth out of us. I don't know who in Springfield runs this place, it COULD be a great place to take family. I would like to go back and hope for a better experience but don't think that's going to happen. Trust the city or whoever cleans this place up starting with...

This has been a regular stop of mine for lunch for quite some time. I went in to place an order and the person behind the counter checked the person in front of me out at the register. She had on gloves and handled money and then proceeded to take my order and touch the food with the same gloves that she just handled money with!! How gross 🤢 is that? When I asked her to change her gloves, she was less than pleased. Begrudgingly she washed her hands, replaced her gloves and prepared my sandwich, but not without drowning it in Mayo. I had to scrape half of it off before I could eat it. Needless to say, for hygiene reasons, I won’t be able to bring myself to return to this location.
