I got my wife's wedding ring here years ago and we have been back several times to get it cleaned and we've always been greeted warmly by the ladies working there who would always offer us a glass of wine while we waited. They've always been friendly with great service.....however... yesterday we went in there to get my wife's ring cleaned again and there was a semi short bald guy who we have never seen before who came to greet us with no smile and immediately looked at us and treated us like we didn't deserve to be in there or something. We told him we got my wife's ring their and wanted to get them cleaned, which he then inspected the rings and took them in the back to clean them. Not very friendly acting in this process however and no offer of wine glasses or anything while we waited like we have been offered in the past he comes back out a little later and gives us the Rings. My Wife puts them on and starts looking at it and realizes the main Diamond still looks very foggy and not super shiny and clear like it normally does. We stood there for a while looking at it under the lights in disbelief wondering why it didn't look all super clean like normal. The guy stands behind the counter staring at us for several minutes without ever saying a word or asking if something was wrong. We wanted to talk to somebody else to see why the ring did not look so clean, but everyone else was busy with a customer, so we finally went back to him. He then proceeds to explain to us that it probably just has some hand lotion or something on the back side of the diamond and that will make the ring foggy.....uh....yeah...we know....that's why we are bringing in to be cleaned! He then takes it to clean it again, and this time it came out looking beautiful. So why was it not cleaned properly the first time??? He didn't look at it before bringing it back out? Clearly didn't care. He never treated us well and never smiled. Made us feel unwelcome. And we bought our very expensive ring their! Not happy...

We have been clients of Maxon Fine Jewelry for over 14 years now. We also have had the privilege of getting to know the owners Rick and Jane on a more personal level. During our annual trip to Springfield, we always make a trip to visit them and have also had the opportunity to make some purchases over the years as well including our matching wedding bands.

Their estate collection cannot be matched. We have seen estate collections in many other locations around the country and what Rick and Jane buy is of the highest quality.

As for their watches including Rolex and Tag: the new store really show cases the fantastic pieces they populate their beautiful display cases with. It's always a delight to see new pieces and even the estate watches.

And how many jewelry stores of this caliber have a jeweler in residence? It's possible to get a same day opinion regarding repair work on antique pieces and I have had first hand experience with this. They make it right again, and what's more, make it right in a modern way that is still harmonious with the age of the piece.

3/30/21 Today I received a text from Jane. On a shopping trip she found a piece that she knew I would love. It’s an Edwardian, classic and fabulous brooch that I purchased on the spot. This is one of them hidden gem kind of stores. That one must have to experience to believe. I know that if you’re looking for jewelry and fine time pieces, you’re probably thinking Battlefield Mall. I say that because of the nationwide chain jewelry stores there. When I thought diamond ring… Zales, Kay, Helzberg and Jared came to my mind’s eye too. This store is second to none on price, quality, selection and service. They will beat any price in town! If you’ve ever thought that having a ring custom made is not within your price point, I assure you that it is. The ring you see pictured was custom made and ready for pick up the same day. Also while you shop they offer beverages in a variety that will accommodate any pallet. This is service we have long since forgotten. I urge you to go in... see what they have in a no pressure kind of environment. Ask for Anton, he listens to what you are looking for and what you can afford. The options here at this store are endless for anyone’s budget. The associates here really go out of their way to make your shopping experience truly special. Again, I emphasize the ring you see here was custom made from my mind’s eye for at least $1,000 less than what Sam’s was going to charge me.
