1st time here, nice place inviting and looks like a good place to watch sporting events. Plenty of TV's at all angles so all should have good views of a game. So let's get to the waitress Brittney, she was absolutely great and quite pleasant to talk with. Great service. Then we ordered drinks and looked at the menu. So I'm being quite honest here this menu couldn't have been more basic. It's a one page with appetizers, salads, a very small selection of sandwiches and then about 5 different dessert options. Scanning the menu I have to say I was quite bored as nothing seemed to stand out as interesting or unique. Both of us commented on the lack of interest this menu presented to us. We made a simple order. So the service was good, the food arrival time was good. I had the BLT and she had the Beet Salad. Neither of us were impressed. Truthfully it's just adequate an both of us thought it's not worth a return trip.

Visited Home Plate tonight with family and had an amazing time! Loved the baseball themed atmosphere, and had to leave with some HP swag! We were served quickly and professionally by Taylor and enjoyed her being our HP rep for the evening! The GM or owner maybe?...came to our table and spent time visiting with us and made us feel at home. Menu was varied enough and had something for just about any taste. What I experienced and thought was great was a number of HP associates conversing with customers while helping keep tables clear, drinks refilled, and when a storm passed over they were really quick to batten down the hatches, zipping up the plastic window coverings to keep customers dry. Next time we are in the Springfield area we will definitely make Home Plate a lunch or dinner stop.

This place is as awesome as I had heard!! I love the decor. It was perfect for the name. It is very family friendly. Our server, Cassidy was wonderful!! They were busy but we never lacked anything or had to ask for service. The food was awesome. Many different selections than ordinary. And the portions are large. It was hard to decide what to get because it all looked good. All the staff was super friendly and helpful. The owner/manager stopped by our table to check on us. Also, weird fact, the bathroom was so cool!! I highly recommend this place!! Definitely in my top 10.

Came in on a Wednesday night, not knowing it was kids night, so the place was PACKED. A server or hostess didn't get us seated for ten mins, even tho there was tables open we could see. Once we sat down my fience order a 1919 root beer, and a spiked lemon shake up. I ordered a water and strawberry margarita. Server wouldn't let me be served alcohol because my ID is still up and down, because I JUST turned 21, and haven't even had a chance to go to the DMV yet. My fience never got his root beer, and his "spiked shake up" tasted like tequila and slightly like lemonade from a nossel but also watered down because it was served in ice. The menu is small, and very bare. Nothing sounded tasteful besides the nachos to me. And it took over 16 mins for the waitresses to realize we had never gotten our order taken. (Mind you we had maybe 4 different servers come to our table so I have 0 idea who "our" server is. My fience got the Italian roast beef sandwich (says served with auju) and by this point I don't even want to eat because the Service was so bad. So I ordered a salad with ranch. Food came out in a decent time. But the salad tasted like the letter was 3-4 days old, and the ranch tasted almost as it has been left out all day, and was warm, which should never happen when making cups of ranch for salads as they do. My fience said the sandwich wasn't bad, but he didn have to ask for Auju and wait probably 5 mins for it. All in all, coming from a server and bartender point of view, I'll give the restaurant a 2. The servers didn't apologize for the wait, never refilled or asked for another drink (I ended up stealing the water they gave to my fience he never ordered) They was unorganized, and a couple them looked like they was "looking busy" but wasnt actually doing much progress. What food we had was okay, but drinks was over poored, and over iced, but service wasn't all the great. Will have the male manger points for giving free popcicles to the kiddos and even chased 2 down in the parking lot because the parents tried to leave before he gave the kids the popcicles he...

Trash owner with no food service training.

Picture this: A group of 30ish underpaid private elementary school teachers decides to have their Christmas Party there, spends money (they certainly dont make) for 4 hours, and is waiting on a $100 round of drinks (I know because I bought it), when the owner tells them they need to "keep it down" after seating a table of 5 (with every table on the section open) right next to them.

When people in the group were asked to move away from the newly seated table, the request was granted without exception.

But "keep it down???" After 30 people are spending hundreds of dollars???

It is important to note that the wait staff was prompt and responsive and the food was good. In fact, everything was perfect... until the owner got involved in the process, and showed up guns-a-blazin trying to show that HE was in charge, without a single clue as to the status of the groups already seated.

When a business advertises as a "bar and grill" and accepts Christmas party reservations, it's hard to imagine treating such a large party that way... unless you have no clue about the situation whatsoever, artive late, and don't bother to get the recon you obviously need beforehand.

Welcome to the new Barrelhead/Amberjack Alehouse. We need that table (they didnt), we have the check (they did, many of them), screw you.

It has been related by people in business relationships with this business that the guy is an absolute idiot.

Confirmed.

As a member of a group that frequents the business more Fridays than not,...

I went to this place some years back. Was going through a lot and life was just kicking me in the groin. Decided to go treat myself to dinner with all the crap going on and distract myself. I sat at the bar. Ordered my food and ate. The food wasn't all that good for the price. I'm sitting next to a regular and he explains they never eat there because the food isn't very good. They wrap their night up there with a few drinks. I'm cool just sitting there and a woman comes up to me and just gets rude and nasty. The guy next to me explains that was the owner. I said o yeah. I mentioned asking to the manager and he laughed and said I'd definitely ask for the manager. I did that and started talking to him about the rude woman. She proceeded to get up and come and get nasty with me again. Told me about how great her staff is and they would bann me from the place. I explained she didn't have to and explained I would never be back. She kept getting angrier and I just got up called her crazy or whatever and left.

First, restaurant owners should never drink at the bar as a hobby or have too close a relationship with their staff. That's why and how restaurants end up falling apart. I did read reviews that night and noticed she was awful touchy about being called out for complaining about taxes and then collected the COVID handouts. I have no idea if this is part of her problem but I found it completely uncalled...
