MEII TEA — Restaurant in Springfield

I wanted to go ahead and give a 5 star despite how weird my experience was here for a few reasons

TLDR: if the loud (but very kind & sweet redhead) is friends with someone who's queued in front of you be prepared to wait awhile and make sure not to have any other engagements for the immediate future even if you have given yourself 35 minutes before your appointment time ... I did go ahead and leave a tip because I believe tipping should be honored in every food service setting

Pros I really like that the ingredients are listed very clearly and are posted in front of the food items in the case, the font is also dyslexia friendly which is an added bonus The decor is really fun and I like how the space is utilized (tho the blow up Shiba doggie was missing when i stopped by :( The quality of the boba is really good ( I take some points off because my matcha wasn't mixed very well, it had some good sized clumps but I did make it clear I was going to be running late so she may have just been trying to get it don't faster which is appreciated) I really like the cups & straws they're currently using: it's a matte acetate with a level of sweetness printed on the side and the lid is really well designed too Back to ingredients: the ingredients are very allergen friendly with the exception of mango and soybean oil so watch out if you have an allergy/sensitivity to those

Cons I personally had a very strange and slightly irritating experience today I saw a man walk into the shop and I entered into the shop separately from him He was a mutual friend of at least one of the works if not both The workers asked me if we were together which I gestured to him and said "no, I have no idea who he is" I was then ignored for 20mins while one of them talked to him about cars He finally left and they both went into the back very briefly before returning and one of them asked me why I didn't leave with him They thought he was my dad?? Which makes zero sense because we didn't interact at all outside of what I've previously stated ( he did ask if I wanted to order first and I should have taken him up on it because I ended up late to my Drs appt 😭 but that's my fault I should have just not bought anything) I admit I was very rude when they finally addressed me because I was in a lot of pain from standing for so long ( I should have sat down or spoken up sooner so again my fault but the situation was so weird - I made it very clear verbally and through body language that I had no connection to that man lol and it felt very frustrating to stand for 20min listening to them very loudly...

I am SO happy this place exists!

We moved here a few years ago and were so saddened by the bubble tea choices. We had some really great shops where we were from and when we moved here we tried all the places Springfield had to offer. We were always disappointed by their taste and quality. I had given up my search for good bubble tea and chalked it up to the mediocrity that is Springfield.

We stumbled upon this place a month or so ago and man…they do not disappoint! We tried all flavors of cream puffs, some of the cakes, and we have had multiple types of teas. They are consistently amazing and it’s hard not to drink/eat the product within 5 minutes of having it in your hand! They are probably going to put the other bubble tea places out of business. I won’t get my teas from anywhere else, I’ll tell you that right now!

The cakes and cream puffs are delicious! As well as the very cusomizable boba teas. I was feeling a bit sad after moving to IL, because I used to visit a great bakery, that made the very best cakes (Queen City Bakery out of Sioux Falls Sd.). Which, I haven't found the cake options in springfield to be as good as I would like. Probably just too picky. Everyone always recomends Incredibly Delicious, and it doesnt compare to Queen City (which was a bit of a let down since so many people recommended it). I got too spoiled! But the cakes here at MEII Tea are delicious! It reminded me of Queen City Bakery in its own way. As well as my second favorite bakery out of Denver CO called TOUS les Jours. And ill for sure be back! Even better because its close to Harvest Market! So happy to have...
